OMG That National Post review started off promising, but this: "And where he[Adam] legitimately faltered — in stage presence, mostly, which all too often amounted to standing idly until his next vocal cue — May and Taylor stepped in ..." ??? WTF? Where are the videos of Adam standing idly waiting for his next vocal cue? Cause I wanna see Adam standing idly - I'm serious, folks - I can't go to any of the concerts and experience Adam's stage presence for myself, so I can only watch videos, and I have never seen him NOT be "on" and "present". I wanna see if he does switch it off during the show. I won't believe it until I see actual proof. OMG! Standing around idly on stage is the funniest thing ever!! WTF?!!

UKGlambert @ukglambert 24m Adam Lambert Takes His Perfectly Marvelous Self To Montreal, Happy 'OITNB' Isn't Cancelled - Socialite Life - www.socialitelife.com/adam-lambert-takes-his-perfectly-marvelous-self-to-montreal-happy-oitnb-isnt-cancelled-07-2014 …
Sorry, I just couldn’t be bothered to write Orange is the New Black in the title. It’s just so long.
You know what else is long? The time since we last saw Adam Lambert! I realize that sentence doesn’t really make sense, but you know where I’m going with it.
The singer, and new Queen frontman, was spotted in Montreal today, looking cute and chatting with fans before hopping into a taxi. Hopefully he enjoys the day before he has to go rock out tonight.
Damn! He looks good!!

There was some amazing rubbish being sprouted on The Voice Oz last night by the coaches - after an ok but nothing special version of Memory from Cats (yep they went there) Ricky said "that was a Tony award winning performance on Broadway" and then while coaching another singer who was taking on "I have Nothing" by Whitney (I know I know such bad song choices) Will-i-am said she was every bit as good as her... and on and on.
Point of this post is that when superlatives are thrown around like confetti it makes it that much harder for genuinely astounding stuff to get noticed. Case in point when I sent a couple of vids of Adam with Queen to a dubious friend her response was classic "wow I believed you but didn't think he would be that good. He is EPIC" (her emphasis).
It's great to see Adam finally getting kudos for what we have always known. And I think in part that's what grates about the ubiquitous #FLD Freddie's place in history is secure. It would be nice if a little air could exist for Adam to carve out his place. I think it's much harder to do these days when everything is amazing, the best ever - fact is no it's not. Most things are pretty average and some things are really good. Hardly anything is amazing. STL in Toronto last night was amazing.

I think there are 3 reasons so many articles are going from Idol to Queen in describing Adam: 1. Queen learned of Adam on Idol, Adam met and first performed with Queen on Idol, plus his broadcast audition was BoRhap, and his last song on the show was WATC. Queen to Queen bookends. Now he is their frontman. It is like a fairy tale and Adam is the fairy prince. Irresistible story. 2. Adam is most famous as a very popular and very successful Idol contestant. The exposure he got on the show was huge. 3. Q+AL PR used the Idol to fronting Queen story in all their interviews. It is a great PR hook. Setting all that aside, even the reviews that start with "He's no Freddie...." all include the bit "but he can sing...". Adam is undeniably one of the best vocalists in the world -- and finally being recognized as such. Freddie may well have been the best frontman from the classic rock era. Adam may well be this best male pop-rock vocalist of his time. (He has some competition, but from women, not men.) For example, Matt Bellamy is one of my fav rock vocalists but I heard both Matt and Adam in the same night last summer and it was no contest. *** I have been wonder about something. They are releasing two new Queen albums this year -- the live Rainbow 1974 concert and a new album made form scraps of Freddie vocals stitched together mostly by Brian. I am wondering if it is possible that there could be an alternate take with Adam on "Love Kills" as a bonus track -- it would commercially make sense to release it -- probably sell 100,000 extra copies. The Freddie vocal without all the crap laid on top of it is beautiful (different style and take on the song).... youtu.be/c3X6KtQ7nxQ#aid=P84k6piHY7gHere is Adam's which has more emphasis on the high notes and has the improv vocal bridge. Then the faster vocal section. A much more emotional version of the song and a more contemporary pop style of singing. youtu.be/lIf7xJGljE8I would love to own both -- and will take them anyway I can get them.
