Hiya, I posted rambling recap on the Montreal show in the Montreal thread if anyone is interested. (I'm still in post-concert afterglow, so forgive me if it's not all that coherent. And I used the word "love" a lot. I need a thesaurus, I guess!)

I think people who keep on saying, "He's not Freddie" are people who has never seen Freddie live performance. And yes, most of these reviewers I bet has never seen Freddie's live in concerts. I like one review that saying "LET HIM GO". Many of the people saying "He's not Freddie" did see Freddie live -- because he is not Freddie. Duh! All I know is I am enjoying these concerts too much to worry about anyone who is still wishing it was 1978. It's not. We can never go back again. I will not let people living in the 70s harsh my good vibe about QAL. I will not let people living in the 70s harsh my good vibe about QAL. I will not let people living in the 70s harsh my good vibe about QAL. I will not let people living in the 70s harsh my good vibe about QAL. I will not let people living in the 70s harsh my good vibe about QAL. I will not let people living in the 70s harsh my good vibe about QAL. OK getting there - might have to make this my new meditation mantra... hmmmm.

My take on the "Adam is not involved, is standing still, is turning his back" comment. What I see is a gracious, generous performer. In theater, when you have your solo, your lines, YOU have the spotlight, and all eyes should be on you. But, when someone else is singing, dancing, performing, reciting, etc. it is downright RUDE to do things to pull the focus from them. When your turn is over, you are taught to "throw the focus" to the next person singing/talking. THAT is what Adam is doing. He is quietly fading into the background. Or, he is LISTENING to what the others are doing. Listening with appreciation and respect.
Okay, so he has heard it 20 times before. Internally, he may be designing renovations for his new home, but, he ACTS like he is totally into Brian's playing or Roger's singing, or whatever. It seems to bring out the best in Brian and Roger, and they look like they are lapping up the attention and appreciation.
Adam gives the same kind of complete attention when he meets fans or an interviewer. It is more than charming. He makes them feel special, no matter what else may be going on in HIS life and mind at the moment. It is deeply touching to the people with whom he interacts, and deeply touching to me watching him do this on stage. I hope he totally ignores the commenters who want him to hog the center of attention more. His manner endears him to his fellow performers and to the audience (except for a few clueless commenters.)

Hoopla Magnet @hooplamagnet 34m Virgin Radio 96 :: Adam Lambert, Neil Patrick Harris and Katy Perry spotted in Montreal : shar.es/Nw1LR via @sharethis
I wonder why they didn't go see Adam if they were all in Montreal.. I'm assuming if they went, we would have heard. Katy Perry is there on tour, performing tonight at the Bell Centre (same venue). She was in Newark, NJ for 2 shows 7/11-12. Then she heads to Ottawa and then Toronto for 3 shows. Her tour is getting really good reviews and the production is huge -- #1 pop tour in the world right now. So I think she has a lot on her plate. ** In answer to who does a call-and-response like Adam's Gimmee Some Love today -- no one that I can think of. But Freddie was probably the most famous performer to do it....and it is my favorite homage to Freddie in the entire concert. Not a copy, but Adam is pushing the audience just the same way Freddie did. I am so pleased it has evolved into a real part of the concert. Here's Freddie's famous Wembley "Day-O". youtu.be/Cc58nCRqwJA

OK getting there - might have to make this my new meditation mantra... hmmmm. I like your mantra. Mine is... "be here now, live in the now, never look back" "be here now, live in the now, never look back" "be here now, live in the now, never look back" "be here now, live in the now, never look back" "be here now, live in the now, never look back" "be here now, live in the now, never look back" "be here now, live in the now, never look back" "be here now, live in the now, never look back" "be here now, live in the now, never look back" "be here now, live in the now, never look back" "be here now, live in the now, never look back" "be here now, live in the now, never look back" As the Eagles sang... Out on the road today, I saw a DEADHEAD sticker on a Cadillac
A little voice inside my head said, "Don't look back. You can never look back"
I thought I knew what love was
What did I know?
Those days are gone forever
I should just let them go but-

Totally agree. Adam never hogs the spotlight. I noticed that on AI and success has not changed him. One of the many things I love about him.

OT sort of --- but it illustrates how irrelevant financially recorded music sales are becoming -- Sia will have the #1 album this week with less that 50K units sold in the US!! It is July -- the slowest sales month of the year -- but still! **** Thank goodness Adam is an amazing performer and has other ways to make money and hooked up with Bri and Roger!

So agree with you Cassie. And the highlighted part is true for anyone he works with on whatever project he's doing. Adam's energy is like a lighting bolt on stage and brings everything to a different level. But he, also, gives his total attention and respect to fellow performers on stage with him and let's them have the spot light when it is their turn. He is a 'total class act'.
