Bringing this over from the Mohegan thread. " men men men I can't hear ya motherfuckers..." -Adam at Mohegan via Seoulmate (Perfection. I Laughed so hard) " Why don't guys sing along? ... Adam usually is singing in his mid range which is higher than most men can sing. ... Or maybe the guys are too cool to sing along?" - Cassie (Yes, I've noticed too) Wow, Adam thoroughly tested the men vs. women responding during call and response at Mohegan. Go Adam!! It looked like the (hetero Queen fan) men are willing to clap for adam and HUGE numbers did just that at Mohegan, but they are far less likely to respond in call and response. (my professional opinion ; ), #$*$#@ reptile brain syndrome) But, bravo to the seriously awesome and evolved hetero men who do respond. We love you!! I confess I am interested in vocal pitch and biological and social response... Ignore the rest of this post if this kind of thing bores you. Most already know that Margaret Thatcher had to get voice training at the renowned Royal National Theater to help lower her pitch to have more authority. Also interesting, while speaking in her lower voice, she had no smile. Unfortunately, biology has even women preferring LEADERS with lower pitch voices which does not bode well for any long term goals of global equality for women in leadership positions. However, now that some of men's technologies are actually destroying the planet there seems to be an increasing shift and some acknowledgment of the need for respect of the feminine at least in some parts of the world. One also has to ask how lowering one's innate voice pitch effects one's sense of self, freedom, and joy. One must never sacrifice joy and spontaneity of the true self! Entertainment is obviously different than political leadership. But my guess is that for (straight, not sure about gay) men, biologically, everything is still about pecking order. Voice pitch and leadership: rspb.royalsocietypublishing.org/content/early/2012/03/06/rspb.2012.0311.fullWinning over the men through other means (wit): .... "One of Thatcher’s most efficacious speech techniques was the ‘’puzzle-solution’’. The speaker propounds a riddle to the audience, after which the riddle is solved with a clever and well found resolution. The art is to make your solution amaze and surprise your audience. It was because of this technique that Thatcher was able to gain sympathy despite of her humorless, pigheaded reputation. A good example of this is shown in the video on the following page: www.debatrix.com/en/2013/04/margaret-thatcher-powerful-with-a-gentle-voice/The power of pitch in the courtroom: www.thejuryexpert.com/2012/03/vocal-pitch-in-the-courtroom/ The power of pitch in business and politics: "Lower pitch, it turns out, pays quite a lot: A decrease of 25% in voice pitch (22.1 Hz) is associated with an increase of $187.000 in annual salary. Moreover, CEOS with deeper voices also enjoy longer tenures.[1] Earlier research on US-presidential elections from 1960 until 2000 already found that candidates with lower voice frequencies won the popular vote in all elections.[3]" www.psychologytoday.com/blog/naturally-selected/201112/the-sound-leadership. Heterosexual men in general are attracted to higher pitch voices in women and younger looking features. For Heterosexual men it seems attraction and leadership respect are polar opposites. Generally, biologically, it seems heterosexual men do not want women with leadership skills ; ) So sad. More women leaders are desperately needed to achieve ecological balance in this world. But there's a serious revolution going on and growing bigger every day. Change is a comin'.

Anyone notice how Adam seems to crack himself up after super fast dancing, stopping, and then repeating (around 9:30 mark)? He is having so much fun, and how wonderful that it spreads to the rest of the band too.

Seems like a pretty slow day here at Atop, too much incredible concert footage from the last week!
Thought some of you might be interested in seeing my take on the Houston concert, damn, already 11 days ago, seems like ancient history by now. But, being a mostly native Houstonian, I want to put this forth for your review and comments:
The thing I noticed the most was the shit eating grin on Adam’s face from the get-go. AMW mentioned it as well, and it was very noticeable. Adam was literally glowing and grinning and flashing that gorgeous smile the whole night. I have a theory about that, and it made me very proud to be in Houston to see Adam blow the roof off of the Toyota Center at this show. One of Adam’s first major theatre performances outside of California was in 2004 in Houston at the Theatre under the Stars in Brigadoon, where he had a significant role. Remember this?
learn more here at: adamtopia.com/thread/21/adam-lambert-timeline?page=6
When he played Houston again for Glamnation 2010 at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, the same theatre where he had appeared in Brigadoon, it was the first music concert ever held there, and he had fond memories of his time in Houston. Now, this night, he comes back to Houston to play in it’s largest arena fronting Queen, it had to have been an amazing feeling for him, and that’s why he couldn’t wipe the grin off his face all night long. After 10 years, he is now the mega star that he probably didn't even know he wanted to be in 2004. Back then, he was hoping to make it to Broadway, and here he is fronting the biggest, best Rock N Roll band EVER, and getting rave reviews, knocking it out of the park every night. Or maybe he was still on a high from his hometown performance at the LA Forum, and the Vegas shows? But that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Generally, biologically, it seems heterosexual men do not want women with leadership skills ; ) So sad. More women leaders are desperately needed to achieve ecological balance in this world. But there's a serious revolution going on and growing bigger every day. Change is a comin'. It's probably biological that the male is attracted to the female with voice and features that indicate youth. Better breeder, to produce more offspring to perpetuate one's genes. He probably also inherently wants them home, in the kitchen, tending those mini-mes rather than abandoning them to take on leadership roles. When it comes to the boardroom, tho', I don't think the male is looking for a mate. He is looking for a leader. He may think she is a ball buster, or a horse-faced witch, but, if she speaks with authority and power, he will respect her more. And that means speaking with a lower, more mature sounding voice. For many years I taught folks who wanted to become sign language interpreters; a female dominated profession. We all think of those folks in church or at a political rally, poetically waving their hands. That is only half the job. The other half is giving a voice to people who are deaf. And half the people are male, not female. My students needed to learn how to speak like an adult, not like a little girl with a high voice and weak speech patterns and word choices. I didn't want them to fake a male speaking voice, but I wanted them to understand and be able to use powerful speech. In today's world, where women are not solely interested in attracting men by showing their baby making capacity, we need to learn new skills. Thanks for pointing this out. Sorry if it is off topic.
