Coming to Atop is the highlight of my day and my escapism from the cares and the turmoils of the real world, even for just a bit.

Wow!! Good to see you, stormchaser! It's been a long time!! [waves at you...] And you were almost kicked out the PTA for going to an Adam concert?? WTF? ??? How is that possible? You have to come back and tell us the story!! I hope I can get this quote post to work - I am clueless on techie stuff - but yes a true story. I live in a very conservative town maybe the most conservative in America LOL but still...I was a board member of the PTA, treasurer I think, and I missed open house to go to GNT at Symphony Hall in the ATL. Another board member missed open house too that that was not the real reason. A couple of board members thought it was inappropriate to go to that concert and wanted me at least off the board. If they kicked me off the board I would just walk anyway from PTA so really just the same as kicking me out altogether. I thought "WTF is this...Footloose...will dancing be banned next? The concert was amazing. The funny part is some other board members supported me and when I came back they wanted details and to see my pics. And I have to say those were some awesome pics from that show. I think Adam got some new fans! Things calmed down after that until my next controversy (going trick or treating with my girls dressed in a Britney Spears school girl outfit). BBL with my Adam fan testimonial and my thoughts on QAL. Time for some tequila!! I thought you were kidding about the PTA!?!?!? I was laughing earlier today when you posted it. Guess it wasn't funny.

Maybe I am missing something in that video but I see nothing controversial. Isn't the whole point that every side fights and fights and nothing gets solved, but the land they love gets destroyed?!

I was born and mostly raised in Canada...which is generally more "American" than "European" but enough of both to see the differences. My mother was a British thru and thru, war bride. One of the fundamental differences between them is imho is that Americans often tell you they will talk about anything but religion and politics....Europeans often consider those the only topics really worth discussing. My mother often considered almost all other topics as superficial or gossip....with a few minor exceptions

Sorry Cassie if I haven't been paying attention, but have you been to any of the concerts? You are such a great teacher in explaining all the music techniques I hope you have been able to see Adam live. It is so nice of you to say that about my teaching. I love sharing my appreciation for Adam's voice and performance style. I didn't write a recap, but I did attend the first show in Chicago. Being the first show, I had no idea what to expect. The experience was overwhelming in many ways. Like many others, I felt that I was in a daze the whole time and could barely remember it. I wanted to go back and hit "replay" a dozen times. I am not a party/dance/whoop in my seats kinda concert attendee. I am so busy trying to take in everything at once. I don't want to complicate the sensory input with my movements or voice. Later, I kinda wished I had gone a little crazy, but, then again, no. I didn't even want my own body distracting me. I wish I were financially solvent enough to have attended more than one concert. Maybe more would have sunk into my conscious mind on repeated viewings. Or, maybe not. Live, Adam just blows out all the fuses in my brain. As to highlights, first hearing Adam's voice floating over the arena on the opening of "Now I'm Here" (WHERE? WHERE ARE YOU? WTF WAS THAT HEAVENLY NOTE?) was breathtaking, as were the pure, ethereal head voice notes at the beginning of LOTG. Surreal. Hearing WWTLF live? Divine. Seeing Adam sprawl on the purple divan for the first time and seeing him come out in a leopard print suit with a crown both elicited spontaneous laughter. So, I guess I would say that my overall experience was fantastic.... and unsatisfying. Fantastic because it was an amazing show and Adam was in great form. Unsatisfying because I needed more and more and more, like a junkie given just a sample of the best drug in the world.
