I also got Brian. I think it was the answer on Science, which I thought might include his passion for the environment (which is me). Yesterday I went with some friends to Big Sur along a rugged part of the California coast where we saw five California Condors in a pine tree at the edge of a long steep drop-off down to the ocean and where we also saw several Gray Whales on their way north for the summer churning up waves with their fluke flipping. Several passer-bys of all ages, ethnic groups and accents stopped by to see what we were looking at, and I was happy to share my scope with them. So here we all were with the majestic condors in the tree, the whales in migration below, and then this smiling eclectic group of humans taking it all in - a magical moment.
How does this relate to Adam? Well, I'm not quite sure, but in talking with the woman I was riding with the subject of Adam & Queen came up. While she's not quite the fan that I am, she does know how good he is and she wanted to know more about QAL and how it is being received..
Anyway, just wanted to share my experience yesterday with the condors, the whales, and the people of all different backgrounds sharing in the same amazement and wonderment. If only the world could be like this all the time.

Maybe it was because my favorite color is blue and I have short brown straight hair.

How absolutely cool.

I have been wanting to share more, to tell more, to ask more, but I don't know how to find the words. I want to find that connection again that I had with you, with Adam. Normally I am, and feel, so very far away. And then just for a week, travelling first, sharing later and finally just being there, in the same space with so many of you (even though most of us didn't even really meet), and Adam and Queen, I was very close. How do I even start to bring that magnificent feeling into real life? I am still living in that place in my mind, but at the same time answering emails, signing timewriting sheets, commuting, preparing meetings. It is confusing. I will find a new balance, I'm sure, but I know that once again Adam has kicked me out of my comfort zone and somehow I have to change again. So how do you do it? How do you take Adam with you in RL? Or is he more like an escape? Hope I can ask these questions, trying to make sense of all of this.[mods, please move if this should be somewhere else, as I'm aware it is not Adam news, but just don't know where else to put it] For me it is a bit of both: part of RL and part escape. Also, it has morphed as the years pass. At first, I was like a school girl with a complete obsession. Then I resolved not to check Atop/PF or other Adam things at work. That was tough while AMA's, albums, etc., were happening. But now I have patience and have joined the ranks of semi-sane people. Now I relax with Atop and breakfast time and after work. I have never missed a daily thread, but I'm not compulsive about it (much). I think a lot of us find a balance that works for ourselves. For me it's a running loop (along with rl things). Whenever I'm doing anything that doesn't require much attention to the task at hand (swimming, housework, showering, for example) I allow my brain to scan over current Adam events. I work out feelings I'm having, sort out stuff said on the thread, angst or rejoice....depends. I also make my shopping lists, sort out my day, etc. as well as scan my Adam "files". I don't really share with anyone (except you guys here) that Adam is one of my mental priorities. I mean, I mentally consider where he is, what's upcoming, etc. on a daily basis. My obsession is not all consuming but it is definitely a forefront item. I'm glad for it -- it's fun. I have other obsessions as well.....my garden, my dogs, and my dh (not necessarily in that order).
