8.11.14 Family Fun in Malibu, Out in LA, more news....

I remember lots of discussion from several days ago about downloading both music and video to create CD/DVD.  Since they are starting to pull down videos, has anyone posted a link to a downloadable file for a DVD - Don't care which show or a combination of videos from different shows?

Due to lots of craziness, have only been able to drop by for brief check ins so may have missed information or links to downloads.  

Like other members, I have been waiting for a break to sit down and sort through playlists and create some special CDs/DVDs of songs/performances.  This is really crappy to do this.

I agree that lots of what is pulled down will show up elsewhere but there are lots of folks who have really amazing videos that may never publish or retain them as private because of this.

I was not clear because I just posted a fast driveby post. I have not had any time to look at it -- so just a fast addition:

Believe is on the notices but the Believe-Queen contract signing did not trigger it (done in May 2014), nor did the Believe-Google deal trigger it (June 2014). I think they are executing part of a bigger plan and Believe did not instigate it, they are executing a request. Someone asked them to take down certain types of videos from YTs.

On the Multicam removals -- Was Mark's last takedown request requested by Believe?

This is not a very deep takedown -- seems to be only QAL 2014 videos and focused on longer videos. But the 2012 and 2013 videos are untouched.

Are these takedown requests for videos with ads? Or other commercial promotion?

Does anyone know someone who got a takedown request and who honestly has posted the video solely for "commentary, criticism, news reporting, or educational use" and NOT for self-promotion or any commercial purpose including asking for contributions to cover expenses?

I think most of these videos are protected under the "Fair Use Provision" of the US Copyright Law. Those multi-cam videos and the full concert videos would be very had to justify. But a single song posting to portray a concert experience with a message of some merit, should only support the commercial value of Queen, not diminish it.

Queen has allowed fans to post whole albums, lyrics videos, and concert footage for years. Brian and Adam has tweeted and posted links to fan videos. I still think this must be triggered by something else -- unless it is because the NA Promo period is over.

Did a brief review of the Chicago, Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Las Vegas concert threads and  noticed that "Who Wants to Live Forever" and "Love Kills" are blocked most often.  The full show videos are blocked along with some of the multi-song videos that are posted.  Several videos that were once posted are now marked as "does not exist" and quite a few others are marked as "private".    Not sure if that trend plays out through all of the concert threads.

The ones that say private have been changed by the owners, like me, in the hopes they would be saved.
