Dr. Brian May ✔ @drbrianmay You'll notice we all holler at the end of I WAS BORN TO LOVE YOU, amazed that we got it right !! ha ha. Never did this as a band before BriIt is such fun seeing how much fun these guys are having, and these newest videos give us a great view of Adam and Brian playing off each other. Adam is quite the catalyst - and their pleasure at "getting it right" on IWBTLY reminded me of Adam being so pleased at his "other band" getting it right on New Year's Eve with Red House.
I know! Queen performing for the first time in Korea and doing the song for the first time as a band, not only Adam's carrying his own name but also Queen's name. Knowing every member of the band, including Brian & Roger were as nervous as he was. No Pressure there Adam!!! LOL.

"I Was Born to Love You" is very popular in Japan. Many "non-Queen fan" Japanese people recognize the melody. Both Freddie's original version and Queen's version have been used for TV commercials since 80s. About 10 years ago, Queen's version along with other Queen songs were used for a prime-time TV drama. The last time Queen was in Japan with Paul Rodgers, Brian and Roger did an acoustic version of "I Was Born to Love You". I was going to jump in and say exactly what you said! Wanted to add that according to the Japanese wikipedia page for this song, the use of this song in the very popular TV drama Pride in 2004, lead to a resurgence of popularity for Queen music and resulted in a Japan only best of album (Jewels). The song's recognition and popularity amongst the Japanese (not just fans, general population) rivals "We Are The Champions" and "We Will Rock You". I am so so so happy that they played this! (though sad I didn't get to hear it live in person) so it is a for me.

According to Setlist.com (which is not always accurate) Brian and Roger performed IWBTLY 6 times in October, 2005 -- in Japan. And I believe that was acoustic. So no one had really performed that live like that before.

Help me I cannot stop listening to IWBTLY. In this video you can see that in certain part Adam's actually closed his eyes while singing. Maybe he's trying not to miss all the words and Brian looked a bit tensed. LOL.. Maybe because that's the first time they actually did in on tour (per Brian's tweet in the earlier page in this thread). But at the end.. before Adam shout "We did it", you can see Spike's jumping up with his hands up in the air and down and then Brian's did the same thing without the jump.. LOL.. They're so excited they did it without major mishap!
www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9wrBV4jR10&feature=player_embedded I suspect you are right & would add that I suspect those couple of walk-thru sound checks that we heard were probably the only time they ever rehearsed the song.

It's very nice that the audience knows the words to the songs, but do they have to sing along? I watch videos to hear Adam's beautiful voice, not the off-key warblings of the fans. I'm with you! While I wouldn't want to dampen any fans' enthusiasm, and fans singing along is better than their sitting there stone-faced, I hate that it's hard to hear Adam sometimes on these vids.

AND Adam's 'other band' getting it right with "Whole Lotta Love" at the first Fantasy Springs! All 7+ minutes of it! I remember Brian saying there would be moments of 'danger' on this tour. Well, it must have felt, musically, rather dangerous to attempt this song in front of 15,000 people, on a world stage, with nary a run-through! What incredible artists! What synergy and what confidence they must have in one another. I'm sure their nuanced communication skills must be in the secret language of genius.
