HEADLINE: I saw more than i imagined. it was Queen and Adam Lambert Queen was in sight. Brian May on guitar, Roger Taylor on drum and Adam Lambert who showed the best singing, it was none other than the Queen. I came close to shed tears when Freddie Mercury appeared on screen to sing with the band. Great music which made someone crazy, someone cry and led someone to being musician poured in. We were all champions. The performance was incredible enough to be the greatest moment of life to someone
At 14th, Queen had a historic first performance at the rock festival SuperSonic, held in Seoul Jamsil sports complex. 15k fans began flocking close at 8:30pm and got excited hearing a bit of Brian May's familiar guitar sound. Finally the curtain lifted playing 'Now I'm Here', followed by huge cheers and enormous singalong
Subsequent hit songs like 'Another One Bites The Dust' 'Fat Bottomed Girls' 'Killer Queen' 'Somebody To Love' were such scenes it was actually incredible while watching in reality. Though Freddie Mercury wasn't there, the strength of the songs were great. Haven't we all heard the songs till the record worn out since we're kids? Singalong was easy. Live guitar sound of Brian May who ran around passionately like a youngster doubled the impression. Overall Guitar volume was large, but it was better that way. The screen was so clear you could see coins.
In 'Killer Queen', Adam Lambert sang lying on the couch. He's a great performer, amazing 'show man'. He rampaged around the stage as Freddie did in the old live video and felt he's relaxed on stage. it seemed like pheromone flowing out when he sang like a countess on the couch. Such androgynous charm of him produced perfect chemistry with queen music.First visit though, Brian May spoke Korean like a space physicist he is. Handing greetings as "Hello"in korean, he said "I want to say a few Korean because Korea is so beautiful". Beating the acoustic guitar, he also said "sing along" in korean, "sing along for Freddie"
This was the the most beautiful singalong I've heard recently. Was then the Freddie was on the screen, it was the moment i came close to shed tears. The singalong ended with Brian's 'feeling good? me too' in korean.
Second drummer was Rufus Tiger Taylor, the son of Roger Taylor. After ensemble of the two, I heard of bass playing'Under Pressure'.
It was like watching a duet of Freddie Mercury and David Bowie while Adam Lambert and Roger Taylor sang together. Brian and Roger sang great too as we knew all members of queen could do lead vocal
It was Adam Lambert who made this impressive performance going strong for over 2hrs. In early part of the show, the songs and the presence of Brian May and Roger Taylor moved you enough. But you need more than just the presence to get the excitement sustaining. Around mid part of the show, i began to see who the Adam Lambert was. His vocal was splendid. His outstanding vocal surpassed the expectation and naturally shook off worries about the freddie's absence
No one could do better than him. Actually when Brian May asked "How about the new boy?", the roar of the audience was sincere.
Adam was esspecially exceptional in vocally-weighed songs like 'I Was Born To Love You'. He performed smoothly the dramatic song. After "Tie Your Mother Down" singalong, he thumed up and said the korean was much better than the american audience
You also could see the performance of a large audience like 'Radio Gaga' clap (All We Hear is Radio gaga, radio googoo, radio gaga). Soon after, 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' came out when the audience was stunned at a streak of hit songs and i had severe sore throat resulted from too much singalong.
Finally 'Bohemian Rhapsody', everyone has been expecting for the last song. Sung with Adam on stage and Freddie in the video.
The audience poured tears as Freddie, Adam and Brian May played perfectly. How advanced science is capable to impress this person. Duet of the dead and the living made the best moment of the daySingalong of the day was different feeling than any other show. it was voices mixed with crying and affectionate. Also the way that claimed the encore was different. The audience sang 'We Will Rock You' instead of shouting encore
In response to that, Roger Taylor started to play drum and our hearts was drumming same way.
The last song was "We Are The Champion" in exaggeration, i heard the song over 50K but singing with queen touched me indescribable way.
The last bow and 'God Save The Queen' played and left plaintive emotion
Super Sonic garnered a lot of attention with the first visit of queen, but was suffering a crisis they couldn't find a venue to book. But Queen solely made the best scene among the summer rock festivals. The show with stage, sound, lighting was flawless. The power of 'absolute music' compensating other shortcomings of the festival was great
