I have a question, that has probably already been answered! I get that IWBTLY is a big deal for Adam's fans because it is a new song with amazing vocals. But why was it a big deal for the band in Osaka? Have they performed it full band before or not? I think that Brian and Roger did it acoustic during the Queen +PR tour, but they haven't done it with full band. And never with Freddie.

Bamafan. Hey girl...heck of an effort on behalf of the news team today! Do you have a connection in Osaka? Haha Appreciate all the newsy finds and vids .......I slept in and woke to find the Osaka fans and Atopers had really pulled through...and fast, to fill the thread with concert memories. What teamwork on behalf of our viewing pleasure.....and it is a pleasure to listen repeatedly to IWBTLY.

So all the comparisons to how Freddie did it are to the music video or recorded version, then? ???

But why was it a big deal for the band in Osaka? Have they performed it full band before or not? Ok quick history! I Was Born To Love You - written and recorded for Freddie's solo project Mr. Bad Guy which was released in 1985. As such it was never performed live by Freddie. In 1995 when the band was compiling Made In Heaven, they decided to re-use two vocal tracks from Bad Guy (IWBTLY and Made In Heaven) and rework/rearrange them to Queenify them. In 2004 I Was Born To Love You became a semi-decent size hit in Japan after it was used in a television series/commercial. THUS in 2005 when QPR went to Japan it was performed for the first time ever as the first song of the encore but only as Brian on acoustic guitar and vocals on the first verse and Roger singing the rest (with Brian on harmony chorus backing vocals). So until Korea there had never been an attempt to play the full version. It is big in Asia simply because it was a hit in Asia and not anywhere else: Sorry it's audio only!

The look back at Brian, Brian's smile? At ~ 3:54 , says almost all of it for me about the performer and person that Adam is: 1. Joy Boy has a new toy. It will be so much fun seeing the many ways he develops to play with it. 2. The collaborator. He looks back at Brian as if to say, "See what I can do? What do you think?" And Brian's indulgent, to my mind, proud smile back? Heart warming. That we get to share it? Priceless. 3. Respectful and humble. I don't think he forgets for a moment who he is with, their legacy. It is so clear he wants to honor them. Love that he embraces the meaning of Queen for so many many people. Soundtrack of our lives. 4. That voice. That wonderful gift he shares without reserve with us. 5. He is so fucking HAWT. 6. He belongs in the pantheon of singers, IMHO. 7. And it makes me so happy to see the reception he is getting. The video fading to a blur of clapping hands is so perfect. Also want to add my heartfelt thanks to all those who provide the instagrams and the pictures and the videos with such rapidity. It's almost as if you know how hungrily we are waiting for them. Oh wait, you do know!
