Your recap had me in stitches - they are NEVER too long. I was at a dinner party last night and snuck away to have a look at the concert thread and saw your brief version. Glad you were at a fantastic concert. I saw some of the tweets about security making people sit down. I just don't get it. At the first Sydney concert hardly anyone on the floor sat down from the start and everyone was happy, including security. They let us go to the railing without any problem. The second concert, a lot of the people and security wanted people to sit down. If you went to the railing, they sent you back to your seat. Just had to tune it all out so it wasn't a downer. And I kept trying - so by WWTLF, I was back at the railing and security gave up. This young girl, probably about 15 came and stood next to me while he was singing it and she was crying and shaking like a leaf. She was totally in love with Adam and had not seen him live before. I put my arm around her and when the song finished we just talked about how beautiful Adam was before the next song started. I loved your Queen fan side-eye. I had a reverse one at the second concert. I went by myself and sat next to a guy in his early thirties who was a huge Adam fan, and also loved Queen. He assumed, probably from my age that I was a Queen fan and wouldn't have heard of Adam - because Adam only has young fans, right?  . I played along and he went for it. Top-drawer Glambert. Even recommended YouTubes I should watch. During the concert we were looking at each other and going OMG. He asked me at the end of the concert what I thought of Adam hahahahahahahaha. I promised him I would check him out hahahahahaha. Hope he doesn't lurk here hahahahahaha. So that explains why so many people in the audience were sitting for the second Sydney concert! Yes. It was a really strange crowd as well, Q3. The whole of the floor section stood up only when ABTD started. It seemed like, if they didn't know the song, they sat down (my perception only). Hardly anyone in my section (C) was singing LOML. Complete reverse of the first concert. I checked the venue policy on standing just now: Standing/DancingPatrons are allowed to stand/dance in front of their ticketed seat only. They must act respectful to the patrons around them and not excessively block those behind them with arms or signs in the air for extended periods of time. Isles must remain clear and are not to be used as a space to stand or dance. If patrons in front of you are standing or dancing please note that this is allowed. Standing or dancing on seats is never permitted. |

Short version for those time constrained... We came. We danced. We sang. We stood with our mouths open. We found common ground. We cheered. We were adamazed and queenified. The end.  We've been in a recap-less desert since QAL left the US and Canada, so it's GREAT to get details from Melbourne!! Oh!! And I just saw the tweet from Brian where he says Melbourne was a fabulous audience! Well, there you go... y'all were doing something right!! |
