From Auckland to Sydney and then Sydney to LAX? No, BB! Non stops! Direct from Auckland to LAX! Both run by United via Air New Zealand. If Adam leaves Friday, he will be back in LA between 12:55 - 2:45 p.m., Friday afternoon, depending on which flight he takes. I am thinking the earlier one! It will be Time Travel! He lands before he takes off! For real!!

How the heck do you even get to LAX from Auckland? Hopefully in a plane! Air New Zealand flies non-stop to LAX twice a day. 12h 15min flight time, but LA is 19 hours behind Auckland. So you land before you took off. The plane flies you backwards in time. For example, on one of the NZ Airlines flights, you leave at 7:40pm and arrive in LA at 12:55pm the same day.

Cool find. Those are filmed with a remote control drone. At the end of the "Queen Melbourne 20 8 14" vid they talk about it a bit.

Lostmypuppy @coconutghost007 1h What a (non) surprise, Queens Greatest Hits back up to #10 on albums chart on iTunes I think that is because of the tour (AU and NZ leaped way up) and Rainbow Live promo, but also it is almost September 5th Freddie's Birthday. These two albums moves up every year since the celebration was started. The "Freddie for a Day" celebrations have already started in some places -- like at the Hard Rock Dubai. More info: www.freddiemercury.com/institutional/ffadThere will be a live stream of parts of Rainbow Live '74 on Sept 5th. So that should push these albums up a bit. Two Queen albums have been on the iTunes Worldwide albums charts for close to forever (Kworb's chart). They just moved up in someplaces. Queen - The Platinum Collection been in the global top 250 for 760 weeks, peak #13. Currently #64 in Rock albums in the US, not on the main chart. Queen - Greatest Hits #22 AU, #9 NZ -- been in the global top 250 for 230 weeks, peak #24. #45 in Rock albums in the US, not on the main chart.

Interesting article in USA Today about Marc Martel. Adam mention:Martel's gig with the Queen Extravaganza led to high-profile performances on shows like Ellen and American Idol. When Queen announced several shows and then a tour with former Idol runner-up Adam Lambert, he watched with bemusement as Internet skirmishes flared between fans of the two singers over which was the better interpreter of Mercury's songs. "In my opinion, Queen has the current best male singer in the world singing for them," Martel says of Lambert. "I went to see their show in New York, and the dude does not strain or miss a single note. He's an incredible virtuoso.
"When people get so emotional and defensive — and offensive — about this whole thing, the first gut reaction to is to get defensive yourself, but it's just rock and roll. It's fun. I enjoy it." More.. www.usatoday.com/story/life/music/2014/09/03/marc-martel-paradise-premiere/14996237/I believe him and that his comment is genuine. And I agree with him. I have listened to him singing a few Queen songs and I also don't get the 'impersonator' label, or at least I don't hear it and I think it does a disservice to his voice. But it goes much further than that. You may be able to count on one hand the number of singers who have the technical ability to deliver the entire Queen catalogue. And then there is performing them - on stage so that your presence both melds with and shines individually and is not engulfed by the extraordinary talent sharing the stage with you. Needing both to succeed, there is only one man who can pull it off. Adam Lambert. Queen knew it, Adam grew into it through his initial fear, as he has said himself, and the rest is history. Virtuoso is the right word, and not just vocally. Lol the 'fanwars'. I have had to learn to live with the gigantic ego-by-proxy of many fans, that far surpasses the egos of the performers themselves. Legends like Queen really have nothing to prove. Some fans do. All I saw on the Queen stage was the humility that truly defines the great. It was about nothing but the music.
