BY DANIEL REYNOLDS SEPTEMBER 18 2014 8:00 AM ET Adam mention: ...Today, she is (thankfully) not alone in this pursuit. Droves of straight musicians are actively courting the LGBT market as allies, in addition to out solo artists like Sam Smith and Adam Lambert who continue to break records as out gay musicians. In a recent interview with The Advocate, Lambert acknowledged the existence of a fatigue among gay music fans, but maintains it's typical of the cycle of fame. It’s only natural that Gaga, who enjoyed record-breaking success with Born This Way, would experience a backlash from the exposure. “I know exactly what you’re talking about,” remarked Adam Lambert with a laugh, when asked about the gay ‘tude toward Mother Monster. “I think most artists though, that’s just kind of the trajectory. If you hit really, really big and really, really hard, there’s going to be the other side of the peak. There’s peaks and valleys. Sometimes you’re on a high, sometimes you’re not on a high.” “I think she’s incredibly talented, a brilliant artist, an amazing performer, and people either like her or they don’t,” he said, adding “sometimes, when something is ‘trendy,’ or ‘new,’ we are even more drawn to it.”

OT but I am stoked for the Queen announcement tomorrow, or late tonight for me in the US, no matter what they say. Any time Brian and Roger are interviewed is a treat. The NA tour will probably be mentioned too so I can't wait to what they have to say about that as well.

Darn, I missed the beginning of Seacrest! I can't wait to hear the whole thing. I think he's down the street from where I work, since their studios are there if I recall. Like a mile or two away!

AudioOn Air/Ryan Seacrest @onairwithryan 1m .@adamlambert talks about being a temp @americanidol judge and teases new album: onair.rs/1rfCGgFAdam Lambert Talks Being an ‘Idol’ Judge, Teases Third AlbumSeptember 18, 2014 8:55 am American Idol Season 8 alum Adam Lambert concluded his run on FOX’s singing competition as the runner-up to Kris Allen in 2009. Years later, the 32-year-old used the momentum he gained from his Idol debut and went on to produce two solo albums, collect an army of Glamberts, and land a recurring guest role on Glee — amongst many other achievements. Now, the “Whataya Want From Me” crooner, who was a mentor on Idol Season 13, will return to his stomping grounds during its New York auditions as a fill-in judge for Keith Urban, who is taking a temporary leave after his wife, Nicole Kidman, suffered the tragic loss of her father last week. “It’s full circle and it’s kind of surreal. I’m sitting there going, ‘This is so strange,’ but it’s such a great opportunity because I feel like, as best as I can, I can try to help them kind of see the light at the end of the tunnel and keep the big picture in mind,” he tells On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Thursday. “Because you’re going through it, you’re sitting in that room, they’ve already been through two big rounds of cattle calls. It’s such a process. It’s not just the glimpse of what we see at home on TV. It’s a big deal.” Playing substitute judge will require Adam to sit beside show veterans Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr., and be one of three authoritative voices that either advances or turns away a hopeful’s dreams. “Whenever I watch the show, this [judging] is the part that [is] sometimes hard to watch because I feel so bad for the kids that come in there and don’t cut it, and their dreams are crushed in that moment,” he says. “So I’ve been trying to be sensitive to that, but you know, you got to be honest. And I also think that this is people’s livelihood and I think that if you can just give them some advice — even if they don’t make it through — maybe they can get better in the future.”
