OT but a lovely quote by the fashion icon Oscar de la Renta: HuffPostWomen @huffpostwomen 3 hours ago "The qualities I most admire in women are confidence and kindness." -- Oscar de la Renta, 1932-2014
Aww. OT but thought I'd share--he made my wedding dress. Not a real wedding dress at all but more my speed. I was so excited when I found it on super-discount at an outlet store. Wish I had occasion to wear it more often: (Needless to say--not me in the dress 8-)). RIP Mr. de la Renta. I'm sure mine's not the only lovely memory you dressed. Awww, what a cool wedding dress!!! Bet you had an absolute blast on your wedding day. :D

Just strange I'm watching 1986 Highlander starring christopher Lambert and Sean Connery (Battle of the Immortals) weel,, what do I hear??? WWTLF Freddie version….. Talon...well, biased I am but I really prefer AFL's version sorry…. Surprised also that they sang a good bit of the song.., back to watching Who Wants To live Forever
Yes QUeen did the soundtrack for Highlander. The A Kind of Magic is about half filled with Highlander tracks.
A Kind Of Magic, One Year Of Love, Who Wants To Live Forever, Gimme The Prize, Don't Lose Your Head, Princes Of The Universe are all from the film.
Brian saw a rough cut of the film and was touched by the idea that an immortal falling in love with a mortal was one of the most heartbreaking things he could think of...He'd have to live forever and watch the love of his life get ravaged by time.
THe film does include the only version of Freddie singing the first verse as in the single and album version, Brian sings the first verse.
As far as liking AFL's version better, that's fine we all have our own (sometimes wrong ) opinions
I will say though if there was one song that Adam put his stamp on it was this one. He does a great job with almost all the catalogue , but this was the one that, imo really compared to the original in terms of emotional delivery and that says a lot coming from me...

It's gorgeous

What are you saving it for? It's gorgeous Awww, y'all are all super sweet. Dead thread is probably quite dead, but just to answer: I have worn it a few times since the wedding (e.g. to the metropolitan opera in NYC, feeling very swank!), but I work from home and really never have much cause to get out of my t-shirt and cut-off jeans shorts, lol. I gotta glam up my lifestyle a bit! Austin is also a laid-back town. Hardly a restaurant here where you'd look out of place in shorts. But I'll wear it again! My mom got us theater tickets for tomorrow night. I'd stick out a bit but as Adam says, only thing you need to pull something off is the wish to pull it off! Maybe I'll wear it in memory of Oscar de la Renta.

I think you should put a denim hacket on over it & restyle it! I am serious! I think it would look very cool!

If you are fairly tall, 5'5" or taller, wear it with a cute pair of black booties. The sexy boot that ends at the ankle. Black! NOT cowboy boots!
