I never saw this phrase before but I LOVE it...."Queen and live collaborator Adam Lambert". It is the best description of this relationship I have seen.

And so much more accurate than "guest vocalist" or the other such expressions!

My quick observations from the balcony: Adam and Anita (Brian's wife whom he was seated next to on her left; Brian was to her right) had a lovely conversation for much of the night when he was sitting at the table. He also kept bopping his head along during all the music too. It was adorable. When he was with Kelly O., they were awesome and he even went over to Ozzy and shook his hand. Loved the whole thing. I had to get home so I missed the jam at the end but the whole thing was so worth it. So many people there from the rock world: Joe Perry, Joe Elliott, Henry Rollins, Sammy Hagar, Greg Allman, Scott Ian, Julian Lennon, Dave Mustaine, Ozzy Osbourne, etc. We even got swag bags at the end!

Perfect recap, lelemaple!

And we still have tomorrow to go! OMG!!!

If a fan video does not show up, I think we will get it as part of the TV show.

Kings of Chaos performed "Tie Your Mother Down" regularly in concert in 2013, so it was probably pretty awesome -- vs the normal throw it together supergroup for an award show closer.

Queen named Band of the Year at Classic Rock Roll of Honour awards

Queen have been named Band of the Year at the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour presented by Orange Amplification awards.

Icons in rock music from past and present were celebrated at the event at The Avalon in Hollywood last night (04.11.14), with the band - now fronted by Adam Lambert - picking up the prestigious prize.

The ceremony was the 10th annual event from Classic Rock magazine, and other winners included Ozzy Osbourne, who scooped the prize for Classic Album for 'Blizzard of Ozz' and Gregg Allman of The Allman Brothers Band, who took home the Living Legend award, following in the footsteps of the likes of Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper and Jimmy Page.

Hosted by multi-platinum Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Sammy Hagar, the ceremony saw the star joined on stage by several musical icons including Scott Ian of Anthrax and Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top, as well as performances from California Breed, Kings of Chaos and Rival Sons.

Other winners included Wilko Johnson and Roger Daltrey, who won Album of the Year for 'Going Back Home', and Jeff Lynne for Outstanding Contribution.

As well as Ozzy Osbourne's prize, his wife Sharon also succeeded by winning The V.I.P. award.

We knew it, you knew it and now it seems the world knows it too. Queen and Adam Lambert are an epic, epic rock band!

The supergroup was formed recently, when the American Idol star was asked to step in and join legendary British rockers Brian May and Roger Taylor for their tour of North American earlier this year. Of course the three men had performed together previously on a number of occasions, but the tour was so popular that the band recent announced new European shows for 2015.

In recognition of this success and of the storm Queen’s new lineup has created in the music industry, the band were named Band of the Year prize at this year’s Classic Rock Awards.

The event was staged on Tuesday (November 4) in Hollywood and it’s official Twitter team made the big announcement last night, posting:

“Band Of The Year w/ @umg goes to @queenwillrock & @adamlambert #classicrockawards.”

Adam was pretty psyched about the news and told his millions of followers:

“We won!! So excited to win band of the year w @queenwillrock at the #ClassicRockAwards!!”

The official Queen account added: “Many congratulations guys!”

We have just revealed that Adam may be doing more with Brian and Roger than touring next year, as the men have revealed that they’re hoping to also get into the studio and lay down some new tracks. Taylor thinks new songs would sound great with Adam’s vocals and has been teasing fans about the possibility.

Queen recently produced an album title Queen Forever, which includes previously unheard material written and partially recorded with late singer Freddie Mercury.
