Just cracked me up how the + Adam Lambert seems to be vanishing. Oddly that makes me sooooooooooooooooooo happy because it means Adam has earned credibility.

I always get a little nervous now when Adam makes predictions about when his album is going to drop, BUT in this case I will remain hopeful as he has been super tight lipped till now. Early next year could be anywhere between Jan-Mar, or in Adam time, May, right? Cultivating my garden of patience... I am optimistic that Adam has a label who supports him, and that he has learned that "almost done" does not mean when he thinks he is done recording, it is when the label thinks it is almost done and ready to be released. So I take this at face value -- he is done recording, the album in the the final stages of production. The only open question is what does "early" mean to Adam. I would say that I hope for March but am braced for May. And I will now sow a few more seeds in my garden of patience. Since Queen is touring until Feb 19th -- and ends in a sensible spot, Switzerland. I think that is the end of this Q+AL adventure. So that seems to point to A3 being released in March - May 2015. If this is a "typical" release schedule....maybe it could look like this: Late Novemeber-early December - one track released and/or performed. Not promoted to radio. January 2015 - lead single released hopefully with a music video. >>If single gets acceptance by radio, lots of streaming airplay and digital sales... Album released March 2015 >>If single #1 does not get acceptance, single #2 released... Album released May 2015 It would be very surprising to me if 1. They already have a release date, OR 2. They release this album while Q+AL is on tour. One thing I don't understand; would a new label roll out a single for radio play in January when their artist is on the road touring & performing someone else's music? How would that work if artist is not available to promote it?

Q3, if the lead single gets released in January, how will Adam promote it? Won't he be too busy with Queen?
ETA - I see Avari already asked the same thing...

Edge Publicity @edgepublicity 5m5 minutes ago Look out for a surprise cameo during an #XFactor VT tonight! #MJvsQueen I was just wondering which channel and what time it might be. Because that relevant info is not given or I've missed it I really need to try to dig it up if they're teasing. At the end I presume it'll be a couple of seconds clip, hopefully not without mention. Whatever, off I go! ETA Starting 10 pm on ITV (=ITV1) which is in 40 mins. The channel's player is geo-blocked so you'll need a program to get around that or choose other sites that do live streams from your search.

One thing I don't understand; would a new label roll out a single for radio play in January when their artist is on the road touring & performing someone else's music? How would that work if artist is not available to promote it? What Adam did for Trespassing radio promo (actually visiting stations) is very rare in pop music -- still done in US country music, but not pop. The label's field team does the promotion to radio not the artist. He also did it in the UK-Scotland for FYE. It did not work in either case. I doubt he will do it again. Yes, artists make appearances to support promotion but often after the airplay has been delivered not before. (Like a Jingle Ball.) Usual sequence is.... Single(s)to radio + print and web promo Radio station interviews + song played (usually remote interviews, sometimes live remotes) Sponsor/ad tie ins start High profile TV appearances Album release Follow up singles to extend sales Tour *** Katy Perry's last album was pretty traditional in promo sequence.... 1/22/12 - California Dreams Tour ends -- era ends *** dark period *** Katy works on album, not much promo, very few appearances *** 8/10/13 - single #1 - "Roar" serviced to mainstream radio stations on August 10, 2013 released Aug 12, 2013. 8/20/13 - PEPSI CAMPAIGN STARTS 9/20/13 - performance at iHeartRadio Music Festival (right before Q+AL ) Performance of current single "Roar" and premiere of "Dark Horse". 10/16/13 - single #2 "Unconditionally" released to radio; official music video was released on November 19, 2013. 10/18/13 - ALBUM RELEASED 11/24./13 - AMA performance 12/17/13 - single #3 "Dark Horse" was released to radio. 4/21/14 - single #4 "Birthday" to radio. 5/7/13 - TOUR BEGINS 8/12/14 - single #5 "This Is How We Do" to radio *** Adam is in a very unusual position. He is a headliner in a very successful arena tour but it is not related to his solo career or even in the same genre. I can't think of any other current pop artist in a similar position. So this is a bit of uncharted territory. Since it is such a high-profile tour, but not very intense, it would be easy for Adam to do tons of remotes while he is touring -- and it makes him more newsworthy.

Edge Publicity @edgepublicity 5m5 minutes ago Look out for a surprise cameo during an #XFactor VT tonight! #MJvsQueen Seems likely Adam is involved or Edge would not be tweeting about it. ETA: Maybe something from the Classic Rock Awards?
