Lilly...this video is so very moving. Thank you for sharing it with us. In remembrance.... ETA: When I was young I remember having to memorize the poem "In Flanders Fields" by John McCrae written in 1915 during WWI and it had such a heart felt affect on me I never forgot it and anytime the 'poppy flower' is mentioned I always think of that poem and it's haunting words: "In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields."

Our Veteran's Day is this coming Monday, November 11th. In case you have important things planned, I don't want you to show up a day early. November 11 is Tuesday this year. LOL, believe it or not I had actually checked the date on my calendar, saw it was the 10th and not the 11th but still managed to type the date wrong. ETA: Of course the problem is really that Veteran's Day is the 11th but as a Federal Holiday is celebrated on the Monday making it the 10th this year.

The more intriguing story if the guitar travel story is accurate and timely is that Brian played neither the red special nor his Tradional tour backup Fryer guitar. Does anyone know for certain what song was played at the end of the awards show? He was playing a Guild.
They played "Tie Your Mother Down". The final performance of the night was Kings of Chaos, the band featuring Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum, Gilby Clarke and Nuno Bettencourt. They first did two songs with Sammy – Montrose’s “Rock the Nation” and “Rock Candy.” Next, Glenn Hughes took on vocals for a song then Joe Elliott belted out Queen’s “Tie Your Mother Down” with Brian May on guitar. Finally, Billy F. Gibbons grabbed the mic and, with Joe Perry as a guest guitarist, performed ZZ Top’s “La Grange” and Jimi Hendrix’s “Foxey Lady,” much to the audience’s delight.
This is the third time Joe Elliott has played the song with Brian following the 1992 Freddie Mercury Tribute show and Brian's guest appearance with Lep in London 2003. I am not an expert on this -- and Brian has so many guitars that it makes my head spin -- but I believe Brian often uses a Guild when he is playing back-up guitar versus lead guitar.

Luke Easton 3ku1 35m35 minutes ago You know this QAL thing is an unusual thing. It is not often a Younh Gun revitalizes an classic band so much, it gets compared to its heyday

I had to memorize it, too. And even in my age-addled state I can still recite it.

Veteran's Day is too sacred to be moved to a Monday. It will be on Tuesday. Courts are closed, Post Office is closed, my son, as a veteran, having served in Kuwait with Coast Guard, will remember his service and those of others.
