Gelly @14gelly · 5m5 minutes ago Brian May splashes £10,000 on aeroplane seat for guitar|Gigwise www.gigwise.com/news/95877/brian-may-splashes-%C2%A310000-on-aeroplane-seat-for-guitar#.VF9AjUHN03c.twitter … / Queen announced a series of UK shows w Adam Lambert
Brian May reportedly spent £10,000 on a first class aeroplane suit for his treasured electric guitar.
According to The Daily Mirror, the Queen guitarist couldn't bear to put the instrument in the regular luggage hold lest it be damaged. Known as The Red Special, May built the guitar over 40 years ago in his father's workshop and it's distinctive sound has featured heavily on the music of Queen ever since.
A source close to May, 67, revealed: “There is no way he would have allowed it to be treated like any other piece of luggage. A member of staff and the guitar were bumped up to first class where he had to purchase a seat for it as it couldn’t go in the overhead locker. It was the only option so he made sure it was treated to the full VIP works. There are few things in Brian’s life that he is as passionate about as his guitar.”
Back in September, Queen announced a series of UK shows with glam-rock favourite Adam Lambert standing in as frontman. May has mentioned that the 32 year old has given him and Queen a new lease of life, stating: “We have no plans to stop, we are going to keep going for as long as we can, forever hopefully.”
Queen will release their new album 'Queen Forever' on 10 November and will feature previously unreleased tracks with Freddie Mercury on vocals and a collaboration with Michael Jackson.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz.......this is a very slow day..................... But, I hope this is just the calm before the storm! So many beautiful things lie ahead of us! A3, Queenbert, Cyndi Lauper collaboration etc - I just can't wait for this part of the AFL-journey to start.

After watching the XFac clip and many others in the past, I've realized that so many singers with good voices don't know how, or choose not to, put any punch into their delivery of a song. Sometimes a staccato delivery is needed, not a smooth transition from one phrase to another. I'm sure Cassie would be much better at explaining what I mean. Just as "I do not want to" is read differently than "I. Do. Not. WANT. To! " lyrics should be sung with a variety of emphases. jmo

That article about Brian buying a seat for his guitar is sure making the rounds. But I always assumed it flew with him in the cabin? Why on earth would anyone think it was put with luggage? I can't be the only one that thought that, right? Can you imagine if it ever got lost?!
