Dear Lilly--Thank you so much for that beautiful-and so very moving video, of the cemetery in Normandie. My father was one of the US soldiers on the beaches there on D Day and although he was shot, was able to recover and return home---unlike so many of his buddies, who were left there all those years ago.During my younger years I had a burning desire to visit the beaches at Normandie and finally did so with my husband when we visited Paris-then on to Normandie, over a decade ago. Standing there at the gravesites, is an experience I will never forget and it helped bring a sense of peace to me,{midst the pangs of sadness} to be able to whisper a prayer of gratitude to all those who gave their young lives on that historic day.
And, unfortunately, I won't be able to see Queen and Adam in Paris on their upcoming tour, but I would suggest to anyone who is able to do so, to take the time to go to Normandie. It is a venture you will never forget. And thank you again, Lilly;I'll be keeping these images in my mind as we honour those who gave the ultimate sacrifice--We celebrate them on our Veteran's Day on Tuesday, November 11th.

Lilly- on viewing your video again, I realize it's depicting the cemeteries in England, not Normandie--but the sentiments expressed are the same- and it is so fitting that we always remember and honour all those who gave their lives in the name of freedom-everywhere. Thank you again....

Seems I need to make another correction-Lilly's video depicts the cemeteries in northern France. Time for me to turn in for sweet slumber---it's after 3AM here in California!!!!

Seems I need to make another correction-Lilly's video depicts the cemeteries in northern France. Time for me to turn in for sweet slumber---it's after 3AM here in California!!!! Have a good sleep you night owl. I've never been to Normandy, but when the cemeteries are shown on tv, it's very touching. Maybe we don't really commemorate the beginning of WW I or II because we were latecomers to both wars. We do, however, keep better track of the "day that shall live in infamy"--Dec. 7, 1941, the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. That's when we got into WW II. (P.S. Lorraine, did you know you can edit your original post by using the Edit button?)
