Shosh already said none of her artists would be there. So why is he still in London?!?! Just hanging out? Well, a photo shoot today looks like one reason! Interesting that his dinner people were a make up artist & hair stylist! Maybe a combination business planning/pleasure dinner?

Trying to get others to appreciate the music one likes is very hit or miss. (Also true for movies, books, places to vacation, foods, etc.)
I've learned this lesson very well over the eight years that one of my sons has been in the music business. I have given friends copies of their CD's to check out, and some of them have never gotten past a few seconds, maybe never even listened at all. Yes, indie is not for everyone, but as friends you'd think they'd listen all the way through one time while doing dishes or some such.
One time with a close friend in the car I asked if she would like to hear a little bit of their music. By this time I knew I would probably just play snippets or, maybe, just one song. I started a song and she listened carefully for about 30 seconds, then turned it off, saying "that was great, but I'd rather have conversation while we drive."
I've purchased extra tickets to a show where Mr. Nonotme and I were on guest list and invited friends to come with us. We would even be driving (San Francisco is about 2 hours from us) so no stress for them. And I've had a difficult time finding people who wanted to go!!! Who even would go, let alone wanted to...
OK, my level of interest in music is different than theirs, I guess. I'll go to just about anything just to check it out, especially if invited by someone interested in the show. I also range widely in recorded music I like. But really, not go when someone provides tickets, driving, and parking to see THEIR SON'S BAND, which is not frightening or offensive in any way????
So now, for my son's band or for Adam I do not invite people who haven't shown real interest. When I occasionally (and really not very often) bring up one of them in conversation I say, "I know this isn't your kind of music, but..." and then tell whatever brief story or anecdote I had in mind. Slowly over time a few people ask a few more questions, but that is about it. On the Adam front, though, fewer people seem to think it is odd that I want to go to his concerts.
I very much appreciate the friends I've made through Atop who enjoy going to concerts and various other live events. What a pleasure to expand my circle of friends in this way!
peace&love

Even Queenzone has a Queen + Adam Lambert section that is very civil. (IMO QZ is the major forum that has the most Queen traditionalists and some of the most knowledgeable Queen fans.) Read more: adamtopia.com/posts/recent#ixzz3Krgxzmw7I went over there after X-Factor. It was pretty nasty. Same BS as always. Could have had a lot of drinks! Well it sure isn't an Adam fansite but most of the negativity comes from a same group of posters. And it is not in the Q+AL section. In the Q+AL section, there are two Q+AL XFactor Performance threads -- 1. Terra posted the performance links and has a few thanks posts. 2. Info thread on performance has 4 comments, none negative. In the Queen Serious Discussion section (which is I think what you are referring to), there are the usual Lambert bashers -- literally the same few posters I have been reading bash Adam since 2011. But there are also many die-hard, long term Queen fans and QZ posters who posted positive comments. Looks like it is 50% positive. I have learned to scroll past the usual suspect there. I do the same thing for some of the Idol era haters too -- although they have become rare now. I did have a laugh at one Adam basher who suggest that Paul McCartney would be a great frontman for Queen. I need to take my humor where I can get it.

Adam looks so good in this outfit! </div>He looks pretty darn perfect! No, that jacket is not new. He wore it recently too & my mind is failing me right now. Was it the Rock Awards? Maybe it packs well?

Shoshanna tweeted about a photo shoot today, but did not identify the artist. So that is still a possibility. The other thought, hold your breath here, a new tattoo. A complex one that would take multiple sittings. Remember the tat artist he followed a week or so ago. Bahahahahahahaha! shoshanna stone @shoshannastone · 1h 1 hour ago Such a great exciting shoot!!!! >> Oh I missed that! We should have a lot of new Q+AL press in January. Perhaps he is there to do more interviews and press? *** If he was in Asia, the tattoo could be a real possibility. This is the London based tattoo artist he followed..... instagram.com/mxmttt

I want to thank everyone for the warm welcome in yesterday's thread. Now seems like the opportune moment to ask a potentially stupid question that I've been curious about for the past few months: When/where did the term "Melvin" originate from? To Atop Queenofthenight!

Couple little bits- Article re: the 10 wealthiest recording artists: money.cnn.com/2014/12/02/luxury/richest-recording-artists/Who knows if it is accurate, but interesting who is on the list and who is not. (Adam, of course, is not at this level.) Yesterday I decided to briefly search a little thing I was curious about re: QAL. While checking the hits that google provided I wound up reading a few bits here and there on some other Adam fan sites. On one of them, and I'm not sure which one, I read that some Queen fans, who love and miss Freddie, but who have grown to appreciate Adam singing with Brian and Roger, wanted to be able to discuss QAL without getting bashed on established Queen sites, and so have started a QAL fan site on facebook. Some Glamberts who always were, or have become Queen fans are also joining the discussion there. I just thought it was cool that QAL has its own fan site. peace&love Perhaps you are talking about "QAL Fans United" group on FB www.facebook.com/groups/1439457499671605/It started on Oct. 19th and here is the pinned post (hope it's OK to post it here): Cathy Gallagher October 19 HELLO AND WELCOME TO THOSE WHO HAVE JOINED US!!! Rules in this group are fairly scant (I can't stand them either!) but there are a few. NO BITCHING! Not about each other, or Queen or Adam. This is a blocking offence, as is SPAM. Sadly, we've had a few people join recently in order to post spam. They don't seem to realise that all posts have to be approved. If they post spam, it'll be removed and so will they! If you are going to post a video on here, and it contains strobes, or flashing/pulsating lights POST A WARNING!!! (That's for me, Cathy Gallagher - I have epilepsy!) Your Admins are myself, Cathy Gallagher in the UK and Steph Teague and Jennifer Anne Williams both in Australia. They're far more computer-savvy than I am! Steph, Jennifer and I are all Queen fans - so if you have a question about them, we should be able to help. There's quite a few Glamberts here too - so if you have questions about Adam, they'll help. We all help each other here!

I think all of you who are taking 'new' people to Adam concerts are great! And courageous! I am going with my husband to one of the QAL concerts in Europe. And I am absolutely elated that he wants to come. But at the same time absolutely terrified that he won't like it. He is always very critical, and he is a singer himself, and used to be a sound engineer, so he knows what he is talking about too. He doesn't like Adams own music at all, but I did play WWTLF for him and he said 'there are not many people who could sing it like that'. Which is a big big compliment coming from him.
I don't think I could cope very wel with rational arguments about stuff that could have been sung better, or sound better or whatever while on an Adam high. I'll just have to trust Adam to bowl him over. (and shhhh.... I booked myself 2 other concerts that I will go to on my own, just in case)
