Hi everyone!
Just joined the group - have to keep us Finns up-to-date and visible here
After Adam tweeted his now famous message, some people asked if the Finnish peeps were sleeping, and unfortunately that was true - there is a 10 hour time difference between Finland and west coast in the US. So you people there get all the good news first! ;D
I agree with aurora and zinnia with their comments about saying "rakastan sinua" in Finnish. It is waaaaay more serious than what it implies in English - at least when you say it to a person. You can say, like, "rakastan jäätelöä" (I love ice cream), but when it is said to a person, it gets a much deeper meaning. Finns (or at least many of them) tend to be a bit reserved in expressing their feelings, and if they say the rakastan -word to a person, they are getting pretty serious.
Even though Adam left out the target of his love, I think we all know whom he was talking about. And I'm all for it!
I've been reading the older threads for about two hours now at my office desk... I think I have to do some work now...
