Hi everyone! Just joined the group - have to keep us Finns up-to-date and visible here After Adam tweeted his now famous message, some people asked if the Finnish peeps were sleeping, and unfortunately that was true - there is a 10 hour time difference between Finland and west coast in the US. So you people there get all the good news first! ;D I agree with aurora and zinnia with their comments about saying "rakastan sinua" in Finnish. It is waaaaay more serious than what it implies in English - at least when you say it to a person. You can say, like, "rakastan jäätelöä" (I love ice cream), but when it is said to a person, it gets a much deeper meaning. Finns (or at least many of them) tend to be a bit reserved in expressing their feelings, and if they say the rakastan -word to a person, they are getting pretty serious. Even though Adam left out the target of his love, I think we all know whom he was talking about. And I'm all for it! I've been reading the older threads for about two hours now at my office desk... I think I have to do some work now... Have a nice day! -Mia-

Adam learns some finnish and it immediately trends on twitter; Michelle Collins cracks us all up and sends people running to the urban dictionary; Adam hits the town with friends (redux part 28)... did I miss anything? Nope - ok carry on.

Ruh roh! Adam better have meant that, or he will be a villian in Finland!! It looks like the Finnish press may have interpreted that tweet as a declaration of love for Sauli. (Obviously, I can't read them!)

I'm bringing this over not that I understand it but some info about Sauli and how he can stay for a longer period. adamquotedaily.blogspot.com/2011/04...g.html?spref=twFor all you ladies offering to help Sauli stay in the US! He may be ok... On Sunday 10th April 2011, lilybop2010 said: Sauli may have a Media (I) Visa which allows longer stay w/ no extension needed. Admission is granted on a "duration of status" basis and as long as the media representative continues working for the sponsoring employer, no extensions of stay in the US are needed How long will I be able to stay on my I visa? You will be admitted for "duration of status" which means that you can stay as long as you work in your approved employment. The fact that one has "duration of status" annotated on their I-94 means that an extension will not be necessary. The same holds true for family members who are also admitted for "duration of status." "***So, if Sauli is asked to continue reporting from the US for his tabloid, he can stay as long as he is fulfilling his job. Yay for the Media (I) Visa! "
