Well, it seems my family decided that New Year's Eve afternoon was the perfect time to go see "Into the Woods", which I do want to see. Sigh. However, it looks like I will have to find recorded coverage to watch the concert instead of hovering over the computer to see it live. My mom actually asked if we should tape it, and I told her that not only are we a committed fandom, but that we are organized as well--and that by the time we get home from dinner, videos will be up with editing, comments and other stuff (HA). Can't wait--no matter when I get to see it. Since I am sleeping in the room where my parents have their computer during my visit (gotta love the fold-out bed), I can sneakily watch the concert all night if I want to...and they just got a new computer with a large screen, hmmmm...

For all of you who want to know what the newspaper clippings on page 7 are about: both are interviews with Sikke van der Veen (a Dutch Queen superfan). - I can't really read the first one since it is so blurry, but the main subject is that this year in the top 2000 Bohemian Rhapsody is not no 1. The top 2000 is a yearly event in the Netherlands in which everybody can vote for the 2000 best songs. And then one of our biggest radio stations plays all of them between Christmas and New Year. It is big, loads of people are listening, there is an accompanying television show etc. And traditionally Bohemian Rhapsody is at no 1. This year it is at 2, which is absolutely stupid, of course. (Fun fact: in the top 2000 there are 25 Queen songs, and '39 is positioned higher that WATC  . If you want to see the complete list: www.radio2.nl/top2000) - the second text is about the documentary 'Queen forever in Nederland' that Sikke van der Veen has made. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm trying to find it somewhere online. Maybe there are some people here that would find it interesting too. It has some unique footage of Queen in the Netherlands. As far as I can see there are no Adam mentions in the writings, but I know Sikke van der Veen likes Adam a lot. So he might even join us for a bit in the next months, you never know . If somebody is really interested in one of these texts I could do a (partial) translation. Please let me know if that's the case. Could take a few days though. |

Today seems to be quiet before tomorrow's storm, so I'll take the opportunity to ask a question I've been thinking about the last couple of days: Is it strategically smart, or even strategically possible, for Adam to release the first A3 single now in the first half of January, just before the Queen tour starts? So that the album may be released in March? After all, they did say the album will be out in early 2015, didn't they? IMHO NO not strategically smart.. It would get buried.. But that's just my feeling Singles get promoted & it will most likely get released in the US first. Being out of the country when your single gets released is not a good idea. Unless he plans on coming home for a week, before the UK tour starts, I say no single until beginning of March. Album end of April or early May. To Adam, I think anything before July IS "early 2015!" (Of course, early November would have been a great time for a single!)  |
