If your laptop and your HDTV have HDMI sockets, then just get an HDMI cord and plug them together. Also check your controller and switch to the HDMI video source. Mine has HDMI-1, HDMI-2, PC, TV, and a couple of other sources. Scroll through those until you find the right one.
