Whatever bits were left were gone by Jan 1. Germany also has sold a lot of tickets since the Q+AL Christmas show. Paris is oddly not sold out (small venue). And looks like they are upping the promotion a bit in Poland. (I am relying on Google translate but I think there are some discounted tickets up in the rafters now.) |

Since RCA or Adam chose to not certify in the US, they could show him with Platinum or Gold plaques from another country. Or Fronting Queen! RCA/Adam had FYE certified Gold in the US [June 22, 2010], but I am not sure it has shipped Platinum in the US -- as of May 2012 it was at 838,000 copies (according to Nielsen SoundScan). www.billboard.com/articles/news/488658/adam-lambert-takes-control-with-trespassing Seems very unlikely that it is Platinum yet. [There could be a later number but that is what I found with a quick Google search.] I expect FYE will be Platinum in the US at some point -- perhaps the A3 promotion could kick it up a bit and push it over the line. At RCA the choice to pay for certification is up to the artist -- and they get charged for it. So it will be up to Adam. RCA will happily do the accounting and charge him for it. *** My bet remains Adam in a big arena with Queen.  Showing his audition with BoRap then a clip of the arena show would be awesome! |

Besides Queen, Adam has received numerous awards for this and that, had a #1 record debut, appeared on many TV shows - including feature role on Glee, and walked the Grammy red carpet for his WWFM nomination. Also mentored and judged on Idol. Enough good stuff to choose from I think. Lots to choose from -- but nothing that was on MJ's list of what they showed. It must be something other than what she has in her spoiler -- which listed 3 things, none of which Adam has YET (I expect him to get all 3. ) : There is no "award" to pick up for #1 album. I would be thrilled if they showed him getting the GLAAD Davidson/Valentini Award OR something exotic and global like the Chinese Music Award. But Idol seems to have a very narrow focus on mainstream America -- so I bet it will be Queen + Adam maybe at iHR? |
