Hello all! Long time lurker de-lurking here. Can you get an app for that? Feel a bit naked, to tell the truth......I am from the NW of the UK. Used to play guitar, piano and clarinet but not now since arthritis took a hold. Able to sight read (taught to read music at age 4 by my brother, before I could read words,) and like to sing in choirs when well enough.
I work as a nurse, but now more on management and assessment so not having to do the heavy physical stuff I used to.
Not yet seen Adam live, but am about to see him with Queen in Manchester soon with my middle son. Bought the eldest son and his partner tickets for Liverpool. We live about 20 miles North of there. Youngest son and GF also want to go so trying to get tickets too!
Discovered Adam whilst channel surfing very casually and caught Mad World on AI. Looked him up and followed his career ever since. I am astounded by his vocal and performance ability.
Can't wait to hear him singing live , esp after watching all the videos of the USA tour.
A quick op on the NYE gig; the sound mix we all thought was poor on TV , with Adam's vocals lost and backing vocals way too high though seemed slightly better on iPLayer on catch up. Second half was better. I suspect there are still a sizeable number of UK folk yet who will watch this on catch up via BBCiPlayer as so many will have been out partying.
However, still thought it was a fantastic gig and just right for a televised NYE celebration : timing was immaculate. Loved the pipes intro to WWRY.
That final planned camera shot of the 3 of them when Brian made Adam crack up was great, and really showed the positive relationship between them all.
We all kept saying in this house "who else can sing those songs live like that these days?"
Need to add, I am a casual Queen fan. Always enjoyed their music but not familiar with all their stuff. I do very clearly recall when Bo Rhap first came out and falling in love with this strange, complicated, operatic song! Very different and dramatic at the time, as I suppose it still is. But I was known as a teen as the girl who likes weird music, as I didn't rate the Osmonds or Cassidy or Gawd help us, the Bay City Rollers........
Anyway, enough wittering from me. Roll on Manchester!
And thank you for letting me post x
