LindaG! Agree! I have said many times, the true meaning of say, Shady, would never be even known by the General radio listening person unless they saw or read Adam's interviews about it. To me, without that background info it is about going to party at an underground club. "Got my dancin shows on!" I agree mys*&@^#r...but he DID say it and we do know....can't undo things... In some ways, that is exactly my point...and if he wants the world to love and accept him as we do, he has to be a little more reticent about saying/showing these things. If that 'world domination' is not his goal, then, CARRY ON.....we will continue to love him regardless. All I am trying to say is that it really is his choice to make... now for sure, BBL

Interesting comment to me, queenofthenight, as I have always wondered if Adam's songs were too sophisticated, musically or lyrically, for pop success. Just my musings, not a statement of fact.

Two minute mark of the Cowboys/Green Bay game showed the all Adam Idol promo. So cool All these promo mentions are making me want to turn the game on! I did last night actually, but didn't catch the promo. I did cause my DS to ask me if I was OK ... but I kept my secret Is it the same promo every time? the one where Adam gives out the ticket?

I remember a comment shared by someone who knew Adam...back in his club days. True Adam does not speak the way he did back then....so this person was implying he was putting on an act now that he has changed. The slight lisp...to his speech patterns, and in his singing is no longer there. Why? Only Adam would know when and why the changes. Conscious unconscious ... (I have my own suspicions related to Adam considering his future....and what would help him in clawing forward/reaching his goals.) I think this is the first I read about the way he pronounced his S's. I noticed it and thought he was copying what he heard in his environment. It is an easy habit to fall into and make yourself comfortable within your social group. His earlier speech habits did not include the slight lisp. Projecting I guess because I have to watch that I don't do it, it can be construed as mocking! After hearing it on interviews I think he corrected it in order to not have a "regional" accent. Again projecting and imho. Thanks for the way you clarified so succinctly my view. I am not so sure I know what you mean by regional, but I do get it if you mean... he was openly gay, and making friends, and hanging out in that community. In my 20's I picked up some mannerisms/ wordings from a new friend...and I kept thinking why am I doing this. I consciously stopped. Adam's speech patterns shifted in the kid clubbing era, and they have shifted back. Thus....He can modify and play into how he wishes to appear and entertain. And as we all do....we age ...supposedly maturing...haha and for sure we look at things differently. We will see where Adam is heading when he is the master of his own work....ie A3.

Don't we all tend to modify our speech based on environment? I know I do, I speak differently in a professional situation than I do with family and different from even that with my running buddies.

I think the way Adam interprets his songs are sophisticated, but I don't think songs such as BTIKM or NCOE didn't catch on becasue they are too sophisticated. I think Adam is one great song away from superstar success. I'm hopeful with this new era. If pop super stardom doesn't happen I think he will still continue to find ways to be a success. I don't think Adam is going anywhere. He's far too talented.
