For all the talk about Freddie vs. Adam, in one way they are vastly different. Freddie was "mercurial" and he knew it -- clearly. Adam is steady, consistent and reliable. I credit Adam's stage training for his steadiness. "Rock stars" can be erratic, musical theater performers must perform their seven or eight shows a week at the top level. Freddie got in shape for concert by have a tumbler or two of vodka, Adam has his personal trainer with him and a contract rider for a tea pot for his throatcoat tea (and probably a lot of kale). It has been my experience that some people simply form the habit of always doing exceptional work. It really does become a habit and easily HeWhoCannot ameds mood, health, level of exhaustion, and everything else. These people are few and far between but they do exist- and I think that Adam is one. It is simply not in him to half ass a performance- whether in a slaughterhouse, at a small private birthday party, or anywhere else. He has trained himself to always do his personal best at that moment. That doesn't mean he won't protect his voice or do what he must to sustain himself over the course of a very long tour. It just means that he's not going to do a crappy job just because he could get away with it. It just means that he has his own set of standards to live up to. IMO that is a very good quality that is lacking in many people. I was re-reading Jacob's Recaps of Adam's Idol performances a couple of days ago. If you recall, at first Jacob was totally freaked out by Adam. He wrote how impressed/confused/turned on/turned off he was with Adam's performance of "Satisfaction." Then, the next day he wrote: "....Adam is through to the Top 12. Everybody cheers for Nick, and Adam is all about him, and then sings his little song again. And the fact that it's a note-for-note, shot-for-shot reiteration of last night is more than anything comforting, because it means that this is an act and not a psychotic sex break, and he's capable of turning it on and off. " Read more: adamtopia.com/thread/2277/2009-jacobs-recaps-twop?page=2#ixzz3OePoKQF6Adam is remarkably consistent in performance. I noticed that watching a different performance 3-4 times a week last summer. He may add a bit, change a bit, but overall, how he performs a phrase or a song is very much the same from show to show. I think it IS partly his theater training. You are EXPECTED to maintain the same flawless level every performance. If you don't, you get cut. That simple.

Well I am seeing a lot of excitement and organizing happening. SHOOT...re your darn weather over there. GA standing for folks will be a B____H if that is the case.
Bama.... How is that one carry-on bag working out for you???? I couldn't do it! WET/COLD? One pair of boots...two? what to take???? Good luck with your decision making!
It rained everyday I was in London/2012. I had great waterproof rain gear, and a great fold-up umbrella. At Stonehenge no one could even use umbrellas as they blew backward, and...some were up-up and away!!! It was like a hurricane on the site. Same for one day we toured London...Buckingham Palace, churches etc. The street with our B and B flooded to over the curb, and I felt so sorry for the businesses that were down from street level, and even more sorry for my shoes. I should have taken my little gum boots that were headed for Sonishpere, then replaced in the closet!
BE prepared ...you wanna have fun! Some fans/tourists were not prepared at all for the weather for site seeing or even prepared for standing in line for the first concert in the rain pouring. Some nice man behind me... was a happy guy, when he got the invite, to shuffle along with me under my umbrella.
The Europe shows should be KILLER!

No, no, no, no, no! It's been drizzly, windy, sheeting down and all sorts of generally sheeety stuff. And I'm down in the South where it's usually measurably better than oop north . bama, did you see my post in the London O2 thread? Yes, thanks Justgill. I saw it and just posted. Are you saying this is not the official weather forecast? I sure hope not. Sounded like a wintertime Hurricane.
