Exactly. Adam's not stupid. Before someone screams, "AMAs!" I would remind you that he did that performance after watching Rihanna march around the stage wearing next-to-nothing, and Gaga set fire to her piano. Other performers, including JLo, have gotten away with antics similar to Adam's so I do believe there was a double standard involved for a gay man. But we're not here to rehash that whole thing again. My point is just that Adam generally knows what is appropriate for a particular audience. His bit with the microphone is on par with what a lot of mainstream pop stars do onstage for an audience that expects a certain degree of sexual innuendo in a pop or rock concert. youtube videos are not a particular audience.. but one has to actively seek out a youtube video....they don't just pop up at random so anyone "outraged" or scandalized by something they saw on youtube is utterly ridiculous because they watched it by choice. (that goes for anything really because people can turn the channel on their televisions, turn the knob on their radios, etc. etc.) |
