Following a five-star review, fans of the rock band have been flooding MEN social media and comments
Our reviewer Katie Fitzpatrick gave the Queen and Adam Lambert a deserved FIVE stars for their show at the Manchester Arena last night.
And hundreds of you seem to agree with here as you have taken to our Facebook page today to express your thoughts on the rock band's return to the stage in Manchester.
Queen are currently touring the UK with Adam Lambert and it is the stand-in lead singer that is getting the majority of the parise.
Below is a selection of your comments.
Your comments on the the MEN website:
On Adam Lambert:
tapastwo: "When Freddie passed away it seemed to me that Queen would fade away. Queen was Freddie with his iconic voice and mannerisms. It has taken a long time to find a front man who even sounds almost like Freddie and having heard a few performances, now is the time for Queen to tour once again. Of course Freddie was an irreplaceable iconic performer but as the man himself said.. the show must go on..."
Glamberts!: "Fabulous concert. Adam has an amazing vocal range, truly fit for Queen!"
Hep: "When i first saw Adam Lambert audition on American Idol, thought to myself there is greatness at his feet, all he has to do was pick it up and run, that is what you are witnessing now, running with greatness. Thank you U.K. for re-discovering Adam for us and the world."
Sarah: "Fantastic ,such a great performance by all and also very moving, a great tribute to one of the best singers of all time. Adam was amazing in his own right and a true shown man, Brian and Rodger you rock!!!!!"
glamity58: "No one will ever compare to Mr. Lambert with Queen. I loved the shows I saw in the states. I am so glad people all over the world can be open-minded about this collaboration, and realize Adam is just honoring Freddie and not imitating him. I'm sure none of the Queen members need money, but John Deacon and Freddie's estate must also be benefiting from these shows. It's a win-win for everyone."
Ruth:" Heard the whole concert tonight via stream. Seems with each show Adam Lambert's vocals get even better but for some reason tonight I was blown away even more on two ballads especially Save Me. He sings it with so much emotion and I sobbed for first time in a long while. Adam's vocals are 2nd to none. Also really enjoyed Brian's amazing guitar skills and drum duet between Roger and son. Can't understand why reviewers seem to think these to acts are somewhat boring. I love them. Thanks for great write up."
On the concert as a whole:
Lory: "Another incredible concert,--master musicians, iconic music, amazing front-man. A show that has raised the bar for all rock concerts!"
Cadlefly: "The greatest show on earth, yes that's what I said.... What a band, what a frontman, what a spectacle."
6plus12: "Thanks so much for this terrific review - heard the livestream and the audience cheering - just wonderful - long live Queen and QAL!"
But it would be wrong not to include some negative comments, as it seems not everyone is on-board with Queen's new frontman
Sean S: "Gig full of champagne charlies that only know the greatest hits. I went to Genesis in 2007. Full of the same kind. Women in party dresses getting up to go to the toilet all the way through. Only got on their feet when they played Invisible Touch."
Andy Smith: (sic) "So a reality show runner up is now queens(well Roger and Brian) front man its a sad day. I saw the new years Eve thing and wasn't impressed. I was lucky enough to see them in77 and 78.
Your Comments on the MEN Facebook page:
On Adam Lambert:
Blanshard Smith: " I went to see Adam when he played at Manchester Academy and he is just outstanding! A true talent that deserves more recognition in this country. Maybe his performance with Queen last night will finally give him that."
Tracey Roberts: "Fantastic night! Loved Adam Lambert, one of the best voices I've ever seen live. Loved every minute!! "
Liz Cook: "Brilliant night, everyone was given their "moment" in the spotlight, including Freddie! Adam Lambert didn't try to be Freddie, he has his own voice and charisma. Roger Taylor should be very proud of his son, he is an amazingly talented young drummer. Loved every minute of it.
On the concert as a whole:
Alex Grocott:" It was absolutely brilliant! Adam can truly sing and he didn't even seem to have to put any effort into doing so, he seemed truly humbled at being on stage with legends. The Freddie videos were nice too, no doubt to please the 'Adam will never be Freddie' bunch but hey, he ain't trying to! Block 211, only block with people up and enjoying themselves. Loved the instrumental parts though I have to apologise to Brian, I had to nip to the loo while he was doing his riffing amazing night, no support act needed, bucket list certainly ticked!! Again again again!!"
Richard Beddow: "Absolutely fantastic gig. One of the best I've seen at the Arena. Boy can Adam sing."
Karen Jackson: "Most I have ever paid at the arena. And for only one band with no support But worth every penny. Classic."
Joanna Thornicroft: "It was amazing. Still on cloud 9 this morning. Love them so much"
