I think '39 is the saddest song I've ever hear. I know the melody doesn't reflect it but if you pay attention to the lyrics, it is very sad. I think Brian's story was an astronaut went to work (to the moon off course), didn't realize years has passed him. When he landed back on earth everything has chanced, the love of his live, his wife had passed.
In the year of '39 assembled here the volunteers In the days when lands were few Here the ship sailed out into the blue and sunny morn The sweetest sight ever seen
And the night followed day And the story tellers say That the score brave souls inside For many a lonely day sailed across the milky seas Ne'er looked back, never feared, never cried
Don't you hear my call though you're many years away Don't you hear me calling you Write your letters in the sand For the day I take your hand In the land that our grandchildren knew
In the year of '39 came a ship in from the blue The volunteers came home that day And they bring good news of a world so newly born Though their hearts so heavily weigh For the earth is old and grey, little darling, we'll away But my love this cannot be For so many years have gone though I'm older but a year Your mother's eyes, from your eyes, cry to me
Don't you hear my call though you're many years away Don't you hear me calling you Write your letters in the sand for the day I take your hand In the land that our grandchildren knew
Don't you hear my call though you're many years away Don't you hear me calling you All your letters in the sand cannot heal me like your hand For my life Still ahead Pity me

It really is full of many emotions! I would be crying for Days Of Our Lives, too. Of course I seem to choke up every time I hear it. It just touches something inside of me every time.

So nice to hear about Freddie's Mom being there. I've been wondering if Adam's parents will be attending any of the shows.

OMG.. at one point I thought Adam will address the presence of Freddie's mum but then he isn't, but I was in tears already.. LOL. I don't know how the mum feels in the building and people's cheering for his late son. I also thought he said "give it up for Freddie's mom, - is here"... but not sure...my DD was talking to me at that moment... Adam did not mention Freddie's mum, first mention was Brian

Adam did not mention Freddie's mum, first mention was Brian I thought Adam would leave that to Brian. To me, I think it really is Brian and Rodger's place to introduce Freddie's mom.JMO
