You guys make me chuckle! I actually like the ferocity of the song, but I wanna join the couch party, sounds like fun! Anyone for Margaritas?

cassie, have to admit I didn't hear the crack at first, but when I went back and listened there was a split second of sound that was not right, sort of screechy? And unpleasant? I don't know if cracking is easy to recover from, vocally, but it seemed he corrected or overcame it pretty quickly. And that's what we are privileged to hear, a real voice. No auto-tune mic, no lip syncing. As you said, part of his wonderfulness is that it is real, and will be off sometimes. As Brian May so poignantly addressed in his video. I don't know if this is true, but it seems to me he flubs the lyrics more often than he does his singing. And carries on after both like the seasoned professional he is. Yes, it is just a split second, for that one note on the word "must." When the voice cracks, it is generally because the singer is pushing the voice too much while reaching for a high note. It's a little like over-inflating a balloon, and that one last puff of air into it pops it. The singer is popping the vocal cords open. As long as they back off the force and/or the high note, it is instantly corrected. No damage done. But, if the singer continues to over-sing, pushing the cords too hard, this cracking will continue, and can damage the cords, just like the balloon that is torn. It may be this tendency to over-sing TSMGO that turns some people off from the song. If I am going to hear Adam strain or push on any song, it will be TSMGO. It is a combination of the forcefulness of the song's meaning, the fact that it is considered a blaring hard rock ballad, and the fact that as Adam sings it, it has a lot of high, powerful notes in his upper range. Sort of like a super heavy barbell to lift. If Adam sang it with an emphasis more on the "ballad" part and less on the "hard rock" I might like it better. But others love TSMGO BECAUSE it sounds edgy and hard.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZ-f_Ew4u9cHere's a video of a dude exciting the crowd before the show started. Back to the ongoing topic, cassie, I'm far from a trained singer, and I heard the crack on the livestream. I was hoping it was just the stream (sometimes I hear what I think are cracks but actual videos prove they aren't), but upon listening to other videos, I can't deny his voice cracked. It's the first time I've heard it happen since one of the American WWTLF's (I think Merriweather). Still, it wasn't that noticeable, and it was certainly forgivable given the vocal showcase he put on just 30 seconds earlier in the song. Edit: Actually, I think it cracked on Sydney 1 Dragon Attack also. It happens so infrequently, these individual instances stick out in my mind haha

I LOVE TSMGO!!!!
I actually thought the Paris version was too "soft"...I prefer the bombastic version a la EMAs! To me - the more "oomph" the better!
May be because I live for Adam's riffs! I adore the end of WATC!
anyway, I can't hear the crack in the last "must", all I hear is a little beautiful to my ears embellishment... but in general I think Adam got unsettled by the lack of synergy in the beginning and sort of struggled to adjust... he tried to speed up mid-way again but it didn't work....
Hope they work it out rather than stop performing it... to me - TSMGO is so much more powerful, interesting and haunting than DSMN!
btw - do we have a vid for the Paris WWTLF?

^And, from the same channel (melouzaza), a great version of IWIA (I know IWIA was already posted in this thread, but this videography is awesome!). www.youtube.com/watch?v=84Pfyp7RZm8Someone just needs to upload the vocal solo and SCC, and we'll have a 100% complete set.
