Sherzie and everyone who'd like to know what OG means: - OG stands for Original Gangster and was brought into the fandom use by Mr. Lambert himself (calling someone in the audience an "OG" at a TV talk show, I can't recall which show exactly...was it the View?..) -the fandom adopted it, giving it an additional meaning of Original Glambert or someone who's been on this ride since the very beginning... as for many of us - 6 years now! Thanks, Inna! I somehow missed "Original Ganster", but I like it! And thanks to Hoppers, 4Ms and others for the coaching on where to reply to a quote. I do use Chrome. Article (Adam parts only)Given my youth, I never had the opportunity to see the original Queen with Freddie Mercury. But I know their catalogue and I very much wanted to see them with Adam Lambert. I discovered Adam Lambert through his single “What do you want from me” which came out in 2009 and I thought he had a very nice voice. Not just anyone can sing Queen. This rock group’s repertoire isn’t accessible to everyone. A “Sin git Queen” on Wii, I massacre Under Pressure and Another one bites the dust. The purists say that no one can replace Freddie Mercury. Agreed. But Adam Lambert pays him homage rather than tries to replace him. He reassures us of this as he sings but he meets the challenge. When Brian May introduced him to the crowd, everyone approved. As well as being a visual performer, Adam Lambert can sing. Whether it’s Under Pressure or the a capella Save me. There’s something pure in his voice, as we can see very well in Who wants to live forever. Adam Lambert, who has been singing with Queen since 2011, has managed to develop a synergy with the group, especially Brian May. In addition to his voice, he is an entertainer. When he sings, he struts, shimmies, shakes his butt, always in a very sexy fashion. Adam’s trick is to seduce the public. With every movement, we want to jump on stage to dance with him. Much like a diva, he went through several costume changes, each outfit more extravagant than the last. Leather or check pants, boots with gold heels or snakeskin, Adam Lambert has a killer look which he wears perfectly. Which is not unlike Freddie Mercury. Adam Lambert’s showmanship is as exuberant as Mercury’s could be. Majestic, Adam Lambert intertwined languish and suggestive poses while on a chaise longue in Killer Queen. It made us want to join him. During the call and response, everyone stood up from their seats, something the audience had not done during the whole show save for Brian May’s standing ovation. The hits We will rock you and We are the champions provided a brilliant ending to the show with a crowned Adam Lambert, a homage to King Freddie. The show was entertaining thanks to the lighting, Adam Lambert’s creativity, and the music we love. This concert enabled me to rediscover certain songs, such as the new arrangement given to Another one bites the dust, which I liked. I’d be happy to go back. |
