so, those who don;t like the WATC riffing got their wish... I wonder if anyone still thinks this way us better than the usual glorious ending! As someone who does not like the elaborate ending (that was missing tonight) as much as the original vocal arrangement, clearly I prefer to hear Adam health and in full voice. And tonight's version has nothing to do with the vocal arrangement of WATC I prefer. The vocal arrangement I prefer is this one -- at 3:10 -- strong and sustained note at the end. IMO it is a rock song and does not need vocal elaboration. youtu.be/ZyVXFpD4k_sAnd, as I have posted before, I would prefer Adam's version of this arrangement -- with his clear, powerful tone -- to Freddie's if Adam ever chose to sing it this way. And maybe someday Adam will sing it that way. *** I do not think that R&B vocal embellishment (particularly runs) have much place in rock no matter who is singing. They are fine in STL, not in WATC. I think that classic rock deserves the same respect that other class music genres are given. *** I am certain that we will never agree on this and many people find the popification of classic rock to be great. I do not. Finally, for me this is solely about the vocal arrangement and not about the vocalist. |

Really very impressive concert considering. Yeah, bet some Queen fans liked it better. Just think, when Brian was ill he was still giving us that wall of sound. No breaks for him. Of course, he wasn't all out singing. He still had to stay upright for 2 1/2 hours. I had the same thought about Brian while this concert was going on. And Brian is 68. Queen fans are so varied that you can probably find some Queen fans who believe the moon is made out of cheese or that Freddie and Elvis are both still alive and living together in Rio. The Queen fans comments I have read online since the 2015 tour started are almost 100% impressed by AdamAdam on a bad day is quite impressive particularly if you never heard him live before. But I can't believe there is one living, breathing human being who would prefer to not hear WWTLF or to here Adam in full voice. |
