Waaiiitt logging back in to say, am I the only one who totally missed this moment, when Beck beat Beyonce for best album (or whatever it was)? https://vine.co/v/OUvaqAPElttDid that happen in real life? LOLOL Kanye West for the win.

I came late to Christina Aquilera appreciation, but she totally enthralled me and made me cry with Beautiful: I guess I've overcome my feeling that she over-melissma-ed everything. Then there was this, which impressed me with her (to me) heartfelt appreciation of the wonder that was Etta James. Etta, like Queen, figures hugely in the soundtrack of my life. Anyway, glad she won the Duo Grammy for Say Something, also love that song. It started me thinking (cassie, feel free to comment) that her vocal prowess to my untrained ears is just as magnificent as Adam's, in her own way. And she does that thing to me where I feel her feeling the song. So.....I was remembering that Adam said more than once that he would like to duet with her. I wonder if there is possibly a more distinct chance of that happening? Adam has certainly proved himself to be a great duet partner, and his vocal prowess is not in question. And I would love to put this out into the universe, because I would like it to come true for him, and would I ever love to hear it. Did someone say Christina appreciation? *puts on stan goggles* I. LOVE. HER. To me, she is the female pop star with the whole package. She's gorgeous, she can sing, she can dance, she can collaboratively write great songs, and she has a huge stage presence. There are other women who can do do things as well, but none have the raw power in their voices that she has. The Jimmy Fallon WATC video with those numerous singers shows what I'm talking about. I have watched MANY of her live performances, and there are times when her excessive runs are annoying/unnecessary, but most of the time, it just sounds amazing and passionate. And I want to highlight your point about "feeling her feeling the song". YES. My number one example here. An Xtina/Adam duet would be my greatest dream come true. Make it happen, music gods. *prayer circle* So to conclude, I want to marry your post.

Well, queenofthenight, there is obviously only one duet that will suffice at the nuptials!

Well, queenofthenight, there is obviously only one duet that will suffice at the nuptials! You got that right, redpanda! Ugh you just sent me on an Xtina video-watching spree. I'm now won't be able to sleep for another few hours because I'm watching her Back to Basics tour which I need to invent a time machine to go see. EDIT: Not to derail this thread, but I just noticed that Xtina brought Adam's couch on that tour with her! Or maybe Adam brought Xtina's couch on the current tour... AND THE MALE DANCERS ARE WEARING ADAM'S KQ SHOES AND THEY ALL HAVE GIANT FEATHERY FANS Sorry, I'm getting carried away now. www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBq_bMd_ljQ

That ability to make me feel is what is missing from so many of the performers today. I think Ariana Grande has a beautiful voice, but I don't feel any connection when she sings. Christina moves me like Adam does! They are in a league of their own.

Totally understand the need for a Wayback Machine, can I borrow it to go see Elvis? Sorry to say, though I could've, I never did. Relax and enjoy your Christina rabbit hole slippage!
