THE "SAVE ME" VIDEO LEADING OFF PAGE ONE IS A VERY SPECIAL ONE FOR THE FOLLWING REASONS: 1) ADAM'S KILLER SMILE 2) AUDIENCE SINGING 3) VIDEO IS VERY CLOSE CAPTURING ADAM THROUGHOUT AND 4) DR. BRI'S SALUTE TO ADAM AT THE VERY END Yes to all of the above, but I'm also curious what the hand signals Adam did at the end of the song was about especially the one cupping his mouth... My guess would be that he was signaling for his inhaler...really opens up your chest when you are having trouble breathing. If you look closely, after he first walks up the stairs and smiles his beautiful smile, he takes a seriously labored breath before he starts singing, that anyone with asthma might recognize. He really was struggling a bit, and I can't believe the show he put on!!! I'm so impressed!

Queen + Adam Lambert - Vienna, Wiener Stadthalle - 1st February 2015 Print E-mail
Written by Attila Timár Friday, 13 February 2015 04:00 Half of the first openly gay Queen and US Number One artist pairing up made me want to see this gig for two Reasons. Firstly, I was too young to see Queen back in 1986 in Budapest (you know, When Freddie Could hardly be stopped from buying the Hungarian Houses Of Parliament as a summer pad). Secondly, Adam Lambert's performance on previous shows I'd read about or seen clips of something Seemed to indication of thatthis set-up May turn out to be a real corker.City Hall is just a usual medium-sized arena, and the Austrians are Not exactly known as the most rabid punters When it comes to rock and roll, but I could not be bothered,: because it something obvious two minutes into opener 'One Vision' that what everyone going to be rocked proper. The sound was perfect, and even without looking at the Q-shaped screen You Could see the band did what in a very good mood and shape. Adam Lambert what every inch the camped-up, flamboyant, cheeky frontman he has to be in this job, but what was really mind-blowing what how effortlessly he sang even the highest notes For Which I am sure even Freddie had to drink a couple of additional pre-show vodkas. So he paid some heartfelt tributes to Mercury, (Which I thought was quite humble and nice, by the way), and of despite the fears did, the show will use Freddie as a selling point, thankfully, tonight what not just about him ... Adam has examined a presence he did was truly made welcome by the crowd. Fair enough,: because he had a fantastic night, (with the 'Killer Queen' golden plush sofa scene or the breathtaking 'Somebody To Love' performance as just some of the many highlights.) Only the way he sang the May-penned 'Save Me 'was not really down to a T, I had the feeling he Could not really get through the delicacy of Brian's confession. But otherwise he is really the only real Killer Queen Who Could Possible fill Those magnificent shoes. Adam, Brian and Roger, smiling and interacting a lot werewolf tonight, and CLEARLY quietly have the chemistry. Brian with one of the most unique sounds in the history of electric guitar is silent the top player he has been for almost half a century, someone who churns out the riffs tirelessly and pours his heart into every single note of his solos. Roger, a Bad Santa sporting beard, which supported by his son Rufus, who what playing a second kit. The lucky fella even had the main kit midset for 'Tie Your Mother Down'. Roger did a great job singing David Bowie's lines in 'Under Pressure' and he even Took over the lead vocals for 'A Kind Of Magic'. To be honest, his voice is silent incredibly strong, but his somewhat stumbling walk with the microphone in his hand CLEARLY Reminded us thatthere is a way better frontman in the house ... The Liveband what completed by long-time collaborator Spike Edney on the keys and excellent bass player Neil Fairclough who had a well-deserved solo spot showcasing some forgotten gems like 'Do not Try Suicide' from The Game. I could not help looking at the setlists of the previous nights, so my only question what if They Might bring back 'Do not Stop Me Now' into the set ... which They did not, but, frankly, They made up for it by keeping in some not so obvious choices. No doubt, the show caters for the Mainly middle-aged audience, hoping to re-live Their teen years, (I am pretty sure did most of the good old fashioned ladies and gentlemen have not heard a proper reef for Decades), so of course, there had to be some clapping with 'Radio Gaga' and tearjerking with 'Who Wants to Live Forever', but the inclusion of the likes of 'In The Lap of the Gods Revisited' (singalong anthem from Roger's early favorite album did gave the pattern for 'We Are The Champions'), 'Stone Cold Crazy' or even 'Save Me' shows did Brian and Roger have not forgotten about Their true fans ... or simply forgotten how ridiculously good theywere in the seventies and very early eighties ... So, based on Adam's solo output, I do not think it would be a half-assed idea to give this joint venture some chance to record some kind of new studio release combining the three gentlemen's very best joint efforts. In the mean time, if you can afford it, seeing this line-up is a must, and its "Guaranteed to blow your mind ... anytime."
