Talon, looks like there are lots of possible projects in Queen land, but you haven't mentioned anything about Freddie biopic...Is there anything going on? Is the project alive? Or "nobody knows" ATM? Good point! I did mean to put that in the project list above - I forgot because frankly there hasn't been much news at all. Last I've heard the project IS alive. But sort of on life support. Ben Whishaw is still on board to play Freddie but the band has had a hard time finding a director and sticking with them. There have been accusations (ever since Sacha Baron Cohen dropped out) that Brian and Roger are being far too precious about it and trying to turn the story into a Disney PG style film that covers up any dirt in the name of protecting Freddie's legacy I'd prefer a raw truthful story if I'm honest and I almost think Brian and Roger should stick to the music side and as long as there is no fabrication of truth, they should let the writer/directors do their thing...

Thank you.

Any time Yeah it's questionable that it goes through...I have a feeling that it might happen but perhaps on a lower scale than initially envisioned... In other news...Brian won the UG competition - and I'm betting Glamberts have no small hand in that

Ok so not official news but an interesting day in Queen fandom. About six years ago, a chap on Queenzone came forward claiming he had a soundboard recording of one of the Queen concerts from Sun City (the controversial ones) form which nothing had ever surfaced previously. He soon provided the first half, said he would upload the second half soon and disappeared. Now this wasn't just another bootleg....I mean a soundboard tape! That's what official releases are made from (well at least that's where they start). So the sound was an extremely raw one with no mix done on it...and yes Freddie was fighting vocal problems (they had to cancel a few shows due to his nodules) so there are some struggles but it was still one of my fav recordings. It had one of my favorite improvs. But that was it...Today...he showed back up and we got the second half (well minus a few cuts) and it was glorious! Some very interesting choices by Freddie including a falsetto moment in Hammer To Fall. Either way Sun City Remaster - CompleteIt may be hard to understand but this was something I waited six years for and had given up that it was ever coming. Easily one of my fav recordings from the 1984 tour

On Brian's Soapbox he mentions that he was recording today on a new project with Kerry Ellis. Personally I believe it has to do with the whole Common Decency thing he's driving at. But we'll have to see!

Easily one of my fav recordings from the 1984 tour Talon, I can't even imagine how frustrating it must've been to know the recording exists but for some reason not shared...how strange...I wonder if the person explained the six year gap... The improvisation is so beautiful! Both the voice and the instruments! and the recording is so pure, great sound, front and center! btw - both links you posted are the improvisation. Would you mind posting the links to part1 and part2? Tx! and congrats to everypne who's been waiting for part2 to surface!
