i bought this book; hard copy and kindle copy. i suggest people DL sample from kindle first; it will give you a taste of what you are getting.
i am NOT sorry that i bought it, and i did it after reading the sample, but if you are looking for style and wit and cleverness, this is NOT a book for you.
it is very poorly written; style of 15 year old teenage boy (no offence to them), with many wrong facts (to OGs). it is very "dry", without much "feel". ANY fan would do much betterer job and any blog out there is waaayyyy better read.
adam deserves better.
BUT
it does have all adam info on one place up to this point. it is a first of its kind. and if you are sucker for all adam (like i am), then maybe, this book IS for you.
there are lots of inserts from adam's old interviews.
kindle version has handful of photos at the very end. not sure about hard copy. photos are "average"; nothing we haven't see before.
im up to idol chapters now, so it might get better. ill let you know.

Shoshanna confirmed it is NOT official. That doesn't mean that it isn't good just that it is not an officially sanctioned book and no Adam would not be receiving any money from it. It is also now on kindle for less than $5 bucks or free for Kindle Unlimited subscribers. This is a self-published book that violates many copyrights. Not only is it not official, he did not even request permission for photos and reports he used. Preach. I'm really in tune for the photographers. Even when the artist publishes the photos without credits, they are taken aback, but forgiving. When someone appropriates photo for profit in a self-published book (did anyone vet it for violations), there's not much forgiveness. |

It's likely due to the tragic way in which Darrell died, that has garnered him an extremely passionate fan base. I won't go into details here because it is way OT, but if anyone cares to scroll down on his wiki page here is the link.... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimebag_DarrellDimebag and Pantera were extremely influential in metal even before he died. Total innovators.  Indeed he was influential and deserves to be recognized as an excellent guitarist. Really innovative musician. |

Meanwhile, drummer Roger Taylor expressed his excitement over the band's return to Brazil. Neil Daniels' books are definitely unofficial and not worth much. I actually just had gotten one of his books: Back To The Light - A Casual Guide To The Music of Queen's Brian MayI bought it because I never saw a book on Brian's solo music. It's not...horrible....just not much you can't get from wiki or here or whatever. I learned nothing, there was nothing special about the pics and it's not as complete as even my work for example. He's written a bunch of these 'casual' biography types. Not worth it. |

Hey - since there's not a lot of news today, can anyone recommend any good kid security software for an Android tablet? Kid has outgrown Leapster, but I'm leery about the complete accessiblity of a tablet. What I really want to be able to do is to use the tablet for my own uses (including ATOP :D ), then press a few buttons and hand it over to the kid where she can access her school's educational game site and do a couple pre-approved things without the risk of her wandering into porn or FOX News. It's a new tablet with (I think) KitKat operating system. The kid is early elementary school. Any/all advice welcome. Thread or PM. Thanks!!  I can't make any suggestions based on having used any of the parental control features since my kitty has not learned to use my tablet yet  , but here are some things I found in a quick search. KitKat would be version 4.4 of the Android OS. There are probably also more specific instructions online for your particular table model. If you need help finding it, please send me the manufacturer and model of your tablet. There are also some parental control apps on the Google Play Store. You should search on "parental controls" and also on "kids mode" and "kid safe" in the Play Store. To find out more about the app than what is in the Google Play Store description, click on "Visit Website" under "Developer" near the bottom of the Google Play Store page.
