Was trying to post her whole twitlonger. Nicely said. something got screwed up. Can't fix it!!!!! ETA: Here it is, copied over as a picture rather than text. cassieBut did Emke look at where he's getting press for the workout pics? Mainly celeb gossip sites. It's not their job to promote music. No, their only purpose is to post content that their readers find interesting. That's the kind of stuff they thrive off of - pictures of half-naked men. Every vaguely music-related site (idolator, Ryan Seacrest, etc) that's posted the pictures has also talked about his performances with Queen and his original music extensively in the past. Even the some of the celeb culture sites (ohnotheydidnt, ET) and the gay culture sites (Towleroad, newnownext, The Backlot) have also each posted Queen-related stories and music stories many times over the years. These media cycles have happened a a relatively long time ago and have been spaced out over six years, so they don't seem as visible as when 50 celeb gossip sites from all over the world all posted the exact same picture just yesterday. In short, no, I do not agree with the point that "the media ignores it all" - that's simply not true. This particular media cycle isn't even half as big as some of the others that she must have forgotten about. Also, I guarantee that this media cycle will fade from public memory by the time the single is released. Adam knew exactly what he was doing when he posted those pictures - he wanted the attention. His new single is out next month, and he wants his name to be in people's mouths. This is a surefire way to make it happen. One might say that he's always been attractive, even when he was all covered in glitter and foundation and eyeliner. That's a valid opinion. Many others didn't think so - that's also a valid opinion. But here's a fact - people are drawn to physically attractive people. We've evolved that way. By making himself attractive in the eyes of a larger body of people, he's going to get a larger amount of positive attention. How is that a bad thing? I always thought his image used to be something that many people just couldn't look past. Now that he's insanely hot, people will be more willing to give him a chance and see what a talented, intelligent, articulate, amazing person he is. I agree -- the media has not been ignoring Adam. When he does something newsworthy, it gets picked up by many outlets including the larger media sites. Did Emke miss all of the press that Adam got back in January when he was an Idol judge? And many of those articles didn't just mention that Adam was a contestant on the show; they also mentioned FYE and Trespassing, as well as his work on Glee and his concerts with Queen. Adam also got quite a bit of press when he appeared on Glee. And the announcement of his N.A. concert tour with Queen was made on "Good Morning America", and the news got picked up by other media outlets. And I also agree that Adam posted those photos for publicity, not just for fans. Twitter and Instagram are used by celebrities expressly for that purpose -- they are essentially billboards. Both sites are used by celebrities not only to maintain a connection with their fanbases, but also to post items to get picked up by the media.

I totally understand the indignation that Adam gets more press for a semi-nude picture than for his amazing accomplishments and voice. That is fcuked up. That is also celebrity culture here and around the world. That is the hallmark of pop music. Adam's goal is to have big hits on the radio and be a top tier pop artists. He could, if he wanted, make it as a Broadway musical star. He could, if he wanted, be a star in the opera world. He wants pop celebrity. Sigh. He pushes boundaries, but ultimately, he has to play the game. It's a business. It has unspoken roles. One of them is, "Look young, svelte, sexy, and well-toned, and show it. Be objectified to be successful. " Now, I know some will say, "Oh, he doesn't HAVE to work out and show off his body. Star XYZ doesn't do that, and they had a number one album." True. But, they are in a small minority. Adam has done a lot to reach his goal of pop stardom. He has stumped across the country and appeared in every podunk radio station. He changed his visual image for Era 2. He went along with the suits and released two "sure fire" singles (that underperformed). He has put up with paps, appeared at the right Hollywood galas, etc. So far, that top tier pop star goal has eluded him. It seems to me, that for this next Era, he is trying this new "sex symbol" angle. It's just a part of the gig. And, it seems to be working, frankly. If he has to work out for an hour daily in addition to doing vocal exercises for a similar length of time, in order to hit the top of the charts, then, go for it. Superficial as hell? You bet. Pisses me off? Absolutely. But, hey, better to get attention from healthy exercise and healthy living than from going bat shit crazy or making absurd statements or being hospitalized for a drug overdose, or all the other things other pop stars are known for. Excellently said cassie!!!

Bringing this over from last night: Q3, Devenlane, and terra should be added to the great contributors to this fandom category. I have a bookmarks' file labeled Adam Lambert Resources for quick reference. Adam Lambert ResourcesHome: Q3's ATop: atop.proboards.com/Devenlane's Adam Lambert Media: www.adamlambertmedia.com/IDF madamimadam's Treasure Chest of Links: idolforums.com/index.php?showtopic=662676terra's Adam Lambert Live Wiki: www.adamwiki.org/wiki/Main_Page There are many more, but the sites above belong on the short list. Carina's Adam-Pictures: adam-pictures.com/index.php is worth exploring, but she's been inactive for more than a year now. (Carina @_ninni is inactive since Jan 2014. I'd love to know what happened to her.) And let's add 4Ms to the list!!!!Absolutely!

Gosh - I guess it's just a matter of wording, but I would never call the gym pic of Adam "semi-nude" He is showing less than we would see at the beach any day. I think it just looks so sensual, at least to me, because of the almost vulnerable, yet powerful pose and the intriguing shadowing. I totally agree with you. It is sensual, powerful, vulnerable, and quite intriguing.

I'm artist myself, I know exactly how picture affects people and I know all about that "physically attractive effect" (too many problems start with idiotic beauty ideals), but still I'm not very impressed that one picture showing some naked skin is more important to really see someone than "talented, intelligent, articulate, amazing person(...)". I mean, it's totally true that beauty standards are fucked up, as is society's worship of the said beauty standards, but there's no point in cursing out the media for making the picture something newsworthy. It is newsworthy, on some level - it's a clear visual indicator that this is the best shape he's ever been in since his rise to fame. It's unfortunate that some people value physical attractiveness over less superficial aspects of a person, but it is what it is. Adam knows that, and he's playing right into it this time around. Hate the game, not the players.

I may be naive. When Adam brought his personal trainer on tour with him, I immediately thought his purpose was to maintain and improve his stamina and endurance, to build up his ability to run, dance, jump, thrust, and twirl all over the stage AND keep singing simultaneously with perfection. I also figured he liked the way he is feeling and looking with regular excercise. I just saw it as a natural progression of choosing to take good care of himself. I will not argue that the results led to the sharing of photos with the purpose of media attention.

RONNIE'S MUSIC BLOGLIVE CONCERT REVIEWS AND GENERAL MUSIC POSTS CAUGHT LIVE: QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT, ECHO ARENA LIVERPOOL 26 FEBRUARY 2015Published February 28, 2015 | By ron500 Towards the end of this set, Brian May asks the capacity crowd at Liverpool’s Echo Arena: “What do you think of the new guy, then?” The roar that came back was the loudest of the night, in recognition of the performance given by Adam Lambert alongside the legendary Queen duo of May and Roger Taylor. Enjoyed reading all of this, but he got Neil Fairclough's name wrong in the whole thing, he called him Neil Lawrence!

This must be a TOH lyrics line...."Yeah you'll find the truth here in my arms". The exact line in NOT anywhere in Google. **** I am tired of fans whining about Adam not getting press or radio ignoring him or people thinking he is hot now when he was always hot or......... you get my point. (Yes, that longtwit got to me!) I believe Adam will have a very big album this time --- and that will be great. BUT I sure hope that I do not have to read too many posts about how it took so long or the media/radio/RCA/universe etc etc were not fair to him. It really is time to look forward, not to tarnish the present with rehashing and moaning about the past. And looks so happy -- as he should be! He has a major label major, big deal album release ahead, he is working with the top talent in popular music, and in his spare time he is the reigning frontman for a rejuvenated Queen and getting great reviews. Oh, yeah, and later this year he will be the lead vocalist when Queen returns to headline the opening night of Rock in Rio. He has a super luxury car, a multi-milllion home where he wants to live, great friends and family, work he loves to do, millions of adoring fans, and so on. "Don't look back, you can never look back" Don Henley "Boys of Summer"

OT but interesting. Jurors hit Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams with $7.4-million verdict fw.to/eRdXmTgAt least Sam Smith settled in his writing violation, this had to go to court for Blurred Lines infringement. Definitely some blurred lines.
