Adam just makes me smile...he makes me happy! He is such a gift. Debbie♈️AlamoBert @saspurs21fan 19m19 minutes ago Laughter is the best medicine. Adam Lambert's laughter is my natural high. (old pic, not mine)

I know LOL. As soon as I hit "create post" and went back to the page I was at I read the next posts... Yeah doesn't look like she's reliable. But maybe we can organize something for this era. Some fans may don't have destination to go to like Adamtopia where we can find guidance and information we need, that's why they are frantically using twitter. JMHO
There is a pretty well organized fan network right now. There really are only a few fans who are bouncing off the walls -- and they are on Twitter. Seems like there are only 3 really wacky fans. Even this Shazam idea is not a bad idea, it is just not THE only thing to do and is not essential. I nearly missed that! Just fell out of my chair laughing, picking myself up off the floor.

I am actually in my mid twenties I am male and 26. So no lieing for me haha. You can still listin to those stations. It's just their demographics are more slated to 18-29. Just the way it is. When single comes out maybe 3 weeks time in NZ. I plan on purchasing it on Itunes. Then streaming it a few times on Spotify. Streaming affects our RIANZ TOP 40 Chart over here. Our Singles Chart is called Top 40 Singles Chart. And Streaming heavily effects that. Seeing this is a global release. In the markets that I work in -- US, Canada, Latin America, UK and Ireland -- the audiences for the Hits Radio stations are all older than their stated target of 18-29 years old. But the programming is designed to attract the target (or for BBC 1 legally mandated audience). >> The target audience is not sensible. In the US, the median age is 36.8 years. New Zealand is 36.9. Australia is 37.5. The rest of the major music markets -- Canada, Japan, Germany, Uk and all of the rest of Europe (except Ireland) have a median age of over 40 years old. Here's a report from the UK... The advertisers know the real demographics and still buy the ads. The radio stations know that their listeners are mostly "older".

1. This was the first meeting because Adam was in the UK. Shazam is headquartered in the UK. UK promo meetings were first in the world. 2. I am 99% certain they will do a promotion for Shazam with Adam. WMG has a strategic partnership with Shazam. All true. Neither of these mean that using Shazam or even opening a Shazam account now means anything. >> I have never said that Shazam is meaningless, just that singling it out because of this meeting and the Jason Derulo contest/promo and the Billboard article from November 2014 that profiled one radio station using Shazam to discover what is hot (the three reasons I have been given so far) makes no sense. *** Shazam does three things related to music: 1. People use it to ID songs they hear but do not know. They market that data to radio stations as a way to see what is hot. Adam's single is being heavily promoted by WBR. It will not need to be "discovered" via Shazam. 2. Shazam is one of many streaming media platforms -- and has a very small market share. Spotify, Pandora and YouTube rule streaming media. 3. Online radio - this is their newest music venture -- they have a Top 20 hits online radio station. It is not monitored by Mediabase. It is not in the Nielsen ratings. It appears to be meaningless for any US chart. (Billboard may use it, they do not publish the list of what they use for radio impact.) *** If you look at the details of the Shazam-WMG deal, and look at everything Shazam is doing related to their upcoming IPO, you will seen it is not a deal to promote WMG artists on Shazam, but a deal to try to leverage the Shazam database to discover new artists and do a venture label. It is interesting generally. *** I can't connect the dots on this one. I am happy to support this if someone can but I can. *** WHATEVER ELSE -- IT IS CLEAR WBR IS PROMOTING ADAM DIRECTLY TO RADIO AND DOING IT AGGRESSIVELY.

Do any of them listen to radio? Over the past six years, I've done casual "surveys" among all the young/youngish folks in my circle... ages 14, 17, 19, 23, 28, and a small handful in their early- to mid-30s. Not one of them ever listens to radio. They listen to music constantly, but it's not radio they're listening to.

True but I still think Radio is the best source of discovery for new music.
