Adam Lambert has revealed that if his fans ‘The Glamberts’ locked horns with One Direction's followers the ‘Directioners’ they'd "be some casualties".

The American Idol star was quizzed about his fanbase during an interview with MTV News, where he was asked how the term Glamberts was coined.



Adam explained: “I think the Glamberts came up with the Glamberts – that is my fan army.

“Actually I think it was based on the nickname that I got doing Idol. I think the media started calling me Glambert, which I thought was pretty funny and so the Glamberts became the Glamberts!”

When probed over who would win in a battle between the Glamberts and Directioners, the Queen singer confessed: “That sounds like there’d be some casualties!



“The Directioners are very strong and I like One Direction a lot, they’re really cool so I wouldn’t want there to be a fan war, but the Glamberts would give you a run for your money. They’re clever, they’re very smart the Glamberts.”

So there you have it! Over to you One Direction…

"Glee" definitely packed in the star power during its six seasons of musical melodrama.

Since the Fox series raised its curtain in 2009, full episodes have been devoted to the repertoires of Michael Jackson, Fleetwood Mac, Lady Gaga and Madonna, among others. On one occasion, a recording artist who was being spotlighted made an appearance on the tribute episode (we're looking at you, Britney Spears). But often, the pithy guest stars outshone the performances and doled out some memorable moments of their own.

As we say goodbye to McKinley High School (and the series' awkward post-graduation story lines as well) on Friday night, here's a look back at some notable "Glee" guest stars.

Adam Lambert: The "American Idol" alum had a five-episode arc during Season 5 as Elliott "Starchild" Gilbert, an NYU student who auditioned for Kurt Hummel's (Chris Colfer) cover band. Pamela Lansbury then created the offshoot group One Three Hill with him and waitress Dani (four-time guest star Demi Lovato).

Idol fans might remember when Adam Lambert sang the song back in season eight. Though she didn’t quite reach the same level as Lambert did with his memorable performance, she showed a very different side of her artistry, to huge success.
