So, people still think that Google is a source of free art to use as they want and I see that part of the fandom is telling on Twitter that this is not big deal. Disapointing. Now imagine if someone use Adam's music without credit. If someone had used her work and then sold it as their own I could see the hoopla but that isn't what is happening here. it is fan art, which Adam saw and liked and I am sure he will comment accordingly...or he will take it down and any exposure she may have gained by him using it will be gone. That is called cutting your nose off to spite your face where I come from. If artists don't want their images used by random people they should only store it on locked sites where access is granted to registered members for a fee. And die becuase there wouldn't be any money for their work? This is years of learning and practising. Working on shitty jobs to have money for basic needs before you can do what you love most, before someone notice you and your hard work and talent. You must show your work as many people as possible, but there must be credit. Adam was in this situation and I can't believe that I'm reading this here.

Saw the article about Fox TV redoing Rocky Horror, and suggesting Adam take the role of Frank. My reaction? Hell, no! I hope he stays 50 miles away from that. Adam is trying to reestablish himself in the minds of the public, as beyond the glam, the make-up, the eyeliner, the weird, punk, gay guy. He is going for a different branding. Accepting that role puts him squarely back into the queer, homo, drag Queen, weird caricature. Cast him in Grease when that airs on TV. Cast him in the movie version of Wicked. Cast him in a movie as a dark villain, or as the quarterback. Cast him against the stereotype. He can do it. I'm with you, cassie. I feel a bit sick thinking about Adam as Frank because that is not an image he wants. It's not about branding. It's personal. Grigoriadis, Vanessa. "The Liberation of Adam Lambert." Rolling Stone issue #1081, 25 June 2009: 52-57. www.vanessagrigoriadis.com/images/pdfs/lambert.pdf
Backstage at Idol, Lambert was out to everybody, but America wasn't completely clued in. Then, one day in March, pictures of him dressed in drag and tonguing his ex-boyfriend hit the internet. It was his fault: Before Idol, he took down his Myspace and Facebook pages but forgot to remove photos from his profile on Tribe.net, a social-networking community of Burning Man attendees. "I thought, 'Fuck, I'm screwed, possibly,'" he says. "Going into Idol, I assumed, 'OK, people are going to talk.' I mean, I've been living in Los Angeles for eight years as a gay man, I've been at clubs, drunk, making out with somebody in the corner. But photographic evidence?" He shakes his head ruefully. "Didn't count on that. Wasn't ready for that." He was particularly nervous about the drag photos, worried that people might think it was his true nature. "I've only dressed in drag three or four times -- and of course I took pictures, because I looked amazing -- but I don't tuck and wear breasts, that's not me," he says. "Sucking my boy's face? Yes, that I will own."

I think I might have tweeted the link to scorpiobert or Adam, had I known the source at the time. Or even tweeting the artist that "Adam wanted to use it & was asking for the source" could have been a nice thing to do. Would have avoided her current bad taste in her mouth attitude about the "Pop star". :( Helps to know all the details, IMO! Agree with you. This was an unfortunate mistake but I don't think it was done with any malicious motive intended. Hopefully it will get straightened out quickly and be thought of as a learning experience.

And when he wakes up, he will just take it down. Doubt he will go through the trouble of crediting someone who called him an art thief. He asked where it came from & jumped the gun by using it. IMO, she is totally overreacting & should have contacted him first. Calling him an "art thief" w/o knowing the details was completely uncalled for. A little google search would have given her Adam's management & publicist to contact if she is that serious about this! Guarantee you, in a few hours, she will NOT have someone with 2+ million followers using her art!

I have no desire to see Adam or anyone remake RH, but wow, that's quite a phrase. I haven't had enough coffee yet. I guess I've never seen adam as a caricature because of eyeliner, hair or his queerness. I haven't either, but I have seen him characterized as such in the media. Haven't you? For example, there is a new TV police drama called Backstrom. A secondary character named Valentine is a flamboyantly gay guy with black spiky hair and dark black eyeliner. A reviewer described the character as an "Adam Lambert." I don't want Adam Lambert to be known as a stereotype of that image. that is part of who Adam is and if he was used as a reference to a character on a current/new show on television that means he has become part of the pop culture lexicon and that is not a bad thing. I just take offense to the idea that Adam should limit his future projects based on what may or may not "stereotype" him back into what you obviously view as a negative, that of an overly queer performer/artist. I hope Adam always takes on projects based on whether they challenge him artistically. I think the role in Rocky Horror would be hugely challenging for him and also a lot of fun for him. That said, I don't see Adam taking on any role like this at the moment because he will be busy with his album, Rock and Rio and hopefully a solo world tour. side note, I though that was tommy joe when i first looked that the picture. weird

I don't disagree about credit being given but it's fan art, it's not like someone stole the picture and presented it to an art gallery or costumer as their own for sale. Also, if as you say, they want and meed exposure, what better way than that? I bet if she messaged Adam and said that was her original art work and asked him to credit her he would, thereby giving her priceless exposure. Should she be responsible for asking for credit? hell no. But that's the sad reality of the internet. When was Adam ever in this type of situation? He was credited, much to his dismay, for Take One and Beg for Mercy. I bet he wishes he hadn't been though.
