Could somebody tell me where is this 'local files' located? TAOG Party Central glambertparty 27m27 minutes ago For those streaming Ghost Town on Spotify make sure you turn off 'local files' or it won't count for Billboard I see where it says local files but how do I know if they are on or off? I never clicked on them so do I assume they are off? Hate being so dumb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not dumb at all, I had to follow other instructions too, could not find it myself. I am working from pc, so my descriptions are based on this, if you are on phone, and it looks different, maybe other folks can help. At top right, where your user name is, click on the little down arrow next to it, go to settings, and then scroll down. You see a whole section called local files. For now, I turned it all off, because I have no interest using any local files and I have not yet figured out any reason to use them, given that I am always logged in. Well, my recent 12 hour cable outage would have been such an occasion, come think of it. But that is not enough of a reason to muck around with this right now. I have read two different things though, and don't know which one is correct: One is, that the local file plays don't count. And the other one is, that your local file plays will count, the next time you actually sign up again, and everything is synced up. You have to sign up at least onece every 30 days. I have no idea which of these two versions is correct and was not particularly interested in finding out. But I hope, the menu paths help.

Obviously you want it to stop = streaming. ETA: To disconnect from the network - turn your air port off if wireless and/or take the ethernet cable out if you are on LAN. WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Didn't know you actually had to go into preferences and turn off the local files to be sure. I might have been doing a ton of local streaming. Not sure which gets preferred if you have a connection but I now made sure that the little beastie local file was castrated in Spotify preferences.

I am tearing my hair out with Rdio. I set it up, chose Ghost Town and then hit play and it automatically creates a station "for me" rather than just playing the damn song so I can hit the repeat button. It won't let me delete all of the stupid songs they keep loading and I have yet to be able to play Ghost Town. I just deleted the whole mess but really want another stream source other than Spotify which I FINALLY learned how to play one song on repeat on my Mac but I can't duplicate it on my iPad. I did not think I was THAT technically challenged! >:( did you try to play my playlist? (nica nica, The Original High playlist) NO. I will go try that now.

It is very easy to know if you are OFFLINE. Look at the lower right corner of the page one any device, it will say OFFLINE in light blue if you are offline. MORE INFO by device so you can see what it looks like: support.spotify.com/us/learn-more/guides/#!/article/Listen-offline/ You have to change it to go OFFLINE. The Spotify default is streaming online.
