I am so friggin happy right now! I lost a family member in Iraq, he was only 21. This brings some closure as he joined the military right after 9/11. Our family lost a wonderful young man who wanted to do something meaningfull with his life only to have it end so violently in that war!

Many memories of 9/11 right now. Walked home with ashes in my hair. Could see hole in Trade Center fr my window. I was slightly late that morning (was in gym on Wall St). Co-workers saw plane fly in. Was working across the street from the Stock Exch. We thought that was next. Talk about shaking in your boots. All of downtown was one big black cloud when tower fell. We thought it was a bomb at first. Woman in cube next to me broke down with her rosary. She thought she might never see her kids again.
Command center was moved to Police Academy which is bldg facing my apartment. Was afraid to leave my apt. We were told to keep our windows closed.
Some idiots on my feed think that we shouldn't be celebrating. The only way I can forgive them is that they are not from NY.

I don't live in New York but that day we were all New Yorkers! :(
