OK, I'm gonna make one of my usual late-night seat-of-the-pants sometimes ill-considered posts, but I'm so glad Adam has the freedom now to not shoe-polish his hair black. It really was South Park that got that whole "anti-ginger" meme going and it may have been even more insidious than the anti-gay thing. Really ugly. He took a lot of criticism for not letting his red-head "freak" flag fly and as someone who started going gray at 19 and tried that look but found "society" (even complete strangers in the elevator) pressuring me to dye my hair, I finally relented at 30. Do you think Hillary Clinton, Dianne Sawyer, Leslie Stahl, Barbara Miklulski, Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Dianne Keaton, Barbara Walters, Meryl Streep, and on and on aren't gray by now? And most of them are dyed blonde. I remember when we were all awaiting Adam's Rolling Stone cover and saying to my sister, the most shocking cover they could have would be Adam as his true self--red hair and fair skin and freckles. I wondered about the upkeep of his roots, eyebrows, moustaches, knowing how fast my own gray on original very dark brown/black color grew out. Anyway, I kind of feel that artists like Ed Sheeran has been as much as a cultural leader as Adam has been. In the famous ripped-crotch interview, he tells the interviewer his natural color is close to hers, and damn he looks good in it. Glad the world has recognized how beautiful male redheads/strawberry blondes are (Prince Harry has shown that too, lol!)

I just checked out Hype Williams Twitter. How can he only have a few tens of thousands of followers? I guess he is new to Twitter, but he was the MAN in the I guess finally fleeting days of unbelievable videos. I grew up really revering the art form and watched the genesis of MTV. I remember Hype Williams incredibly mind-blowing Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes, TLC, and Janet Jackson videos. It was probably the last decade of music videos before the renaissance with YouTube happened, but his stuff was way ahead of its time, or more likely, cutting edge before a dark ages occurred and people like Gaga and her director re establish it. I just showed my 14 y.o. daughter a bunch of Hype Williams videos from the years just before her birth and she was mesmerized. Not easy to do these days!
