So far, about 99.9% of the comments under the video at ET are two thumbs up!

Wow, just got a chance to see the video. It's so beautiful and artistic, and Adam is so beautiful and artistic! I love the interpretive dance and Adam's impressive acting that spanned from sad and vulnerable to intense and smoldering. I love the black and white, the Elvis tribute, all of it!

I think this video is going to kick GT into another gear like the WWFM video did for that song. So excited!!!!!!!!!

Was that it? The most gorgeous man you could possibly want to film and he's hardly shown for a whole second at a time....what a wasted opportunity...and i hope he didn't work on getting in shape for this cos no one would know. Also, I thought the opening bit with his face more featured, was very badly lit - unflattering, which takes some doing with Adam..The whole thing was just a video list of oddly dressed and presented friends of Adam in irritating split second flashes. (A bit latter day IIHY). All this instead of innovation and artistry and real imagination. Just could have been soo amazing with Adam as subject matter. Oh oh.....now I'm in trouble.....but it's just my humble opinion, etc.....and what do I know.... So looking forward to being wrong....fire away.... I was going to hold off on posting my opinion in this thread as to not bring the general mood down, but after seeing this post....fuck it, I can't resist. I agree. I find it...unpleasant to look at. I just watched it once, but I had no desire to watch it again; I felt more inclined to watch the lyric video again. It's like takes the best aspects (Adam's friends) and the worst aspects (the seizure-inducing flashes) of the IIHY video and throws them onto a slate more reflective of Adam's updated aesthetic. I ended up feeling like my eyeballs were forcefully assaulted with an absurd amount of imagery, yet nevertheless I took nothing away from this video other than the fact that Adam has hot friends (which I already knew). To me, the worst part was Hype Williams namedropping himself in the middle of the video. I have no problem with directors crediting themselves at the beginning or end of a video, but the middle? No. It's tacky. It's distracting. It draws all attention away from whatever else is going on. Plus, who decided to use that font? Oh, and for the record, I'm 21. Not that I claim to represent all young people, but disliking this video is definitely not an age-related thing.
I watched it once and haven't gone back to watch it again. I think it's a bit Frantic and Schizophrenic, exactly just like Adam describe Ghost Town. I will go watch it again tomorrow.

I am in the strangest two realities tonight. On an Adam fan site where there is mixed reviews to his new video. And with a group of friends who have FINALLY stopped mocking me for being an Adam Lambert groupie. They now want to come with me -- even on a road trip to Wilkes-Barre PA for the like first concert of the A3 era. Too funny. Too weird. Too worlds. (Clearly I have had too much to drink. )

The song Ghost Town is truly off the charts hands down, wow, no debate. But how did Adam capture the very essence of Elvis (apart from having his good looks of course) in this video. Amazing.

You may be right.... In many ways, the MVs are indeed made to attract the more casual viewer - all the (flashes of) beautiful, writhing bodies may well appeal but almost every other vid out there does that kind of thing better, more watchable, more explicitly... But they should also have had more opportunity to find Adam appealing, too... IMHO the more casual viewer or potential new fan would FIND little NEW engagement with Adam as we know him, in this little film. I respectfully disagree. I got the music video played at a big club here on an otherwise boring Tuesday night. I wanted to see it big. I think I was the only Adam fan in attendence. Median age looks to be <30 and people loved it, and my friends think Adam is "gorgeous". They are replaying it for the 4th time. Everyone is impressed -- particularly with the song, the beat, Adam and the dancers. They want the remix -- NOW. >> While I am not sure there is anything new here -- in the song or the video -- Adam is new to many people. It all seems familiar but new, enticing but safe. Probably perfect for the US. >> Ohio (where I am) is a bell weather for the US. It is the center for marketing research because it is so "normal". And my little experiment indicates that this is a hit. So glad about the great reception in the bar, for song and vid. i too, love the song - have come to love it more than any other Adam song....I am 1oo% sure it will be a smash. But. I am disappointed in the lack of imagination and original artistry in this vid....nothing can change that.... So, when Ghost Town is No 1 for six weeks, perhaps they'll come see me for ideas for the Original High video.... Or not....
