AWESOME!!!!! Shock and awe Wish Miami Elvis Duran would add. Maybe tomorrow. Remember one of the things that needs to happen is for the big spin numbers to come all at the same time. That means that some stations actually need to wait (I think Z100 might be doing this) so that it's spins help push it up the charts. If too many come on too soon then the ones who roll their list really fast start playing other songs right at the time when those spins are needed to push it up. Now sure they can just add it and gradually up their spin cycle too but I think most PDs have a plan on when to add and how much to spin for most songs they play. This also goes along with the instructions we are getting to not badger stations about playing it but instead to use social media to spread glitter on the station when it's time. Like "Wow, my favorite radio station K106 just played @adamlambert's Ghost Town. Such a cool song. #K106rocks " using whatever hashtag the station is using to promote itself. But not "why haven't you added..... yet". There could be a reason that is all in Adam's favor for it to wait. Now if it gets in the top 10 and a station doesn't have it yet, well then...... -evil grin- Very good advice. Does that mean if it had added that we should not request a couple of times a week on Mediabase form? West Palm has 2 stations now that have added Ghost Town

I woulden't request at all unless we are told so. They usually on Twitter ask fans to request. But mostly its just a fan interaction thing. They usually have well planned out playlists. Ghost Town is doing so well in US surprised in a good way. Now if NZ could start playing the song, it is currently #60 over here on ITunes. Doing well considering zero promo.

If not then they probably know it's hardcore fans using the forms. I think all stations have the forms but not all use them as a preferred request method. A lot of them are going to the text groups or facebook.

At this point, a positive response to the song as mentioned above is way more valuable than a request. Request if the station has added and asks for requests. Play the games, participate in their activities, don't be just Adam centric pick a few others and be an active participant for the station. JMHO

Most radio stations do not look at Mediabase request forms but they are automatically generated for every station.

I really can't see anything wrong with moderate requesting - say a couple of times a week to ones local station(s) and mixing up the request with other favourite songs - behaving pretty much like an ordinary listener in other words (and we are listeners after all ). I can, however, foresee some issues in not doing so if GT requests fall below the levels for other songs and programming choices are being made - station programming plans must surely be dynamic to some extent. It might be just me, but I do worry about the law of unintended consequences in the face of these calls to hold back en masse - requests may not influence a station to major on a song but what affect would a dearth of requests have ?

SO I just looked up the playlist out of curiosity It's not the 100
Any explanation? I'm such a worried wort

This is the report for the last 7 days for Q102 lw: Apr 20 - Apr 26 TW: Apr 27 - May 3 lw TW Artist Title TW lw Move Aud 23 44 ADAM LAMBERT Ghost Town 9 24 -15 0.1234
Q102 spun the song 19 times the first day. This was surely a promotional thing. Beyond that they did an additional 5 spins the remainder of the first week. So if you thow out the first day promo they really had a spin count of 5. This week the spin count is 9. So nothing to worry about, the spins will increase naturally. The first day promo gave a distorted view to the song's position. I looked at their website and it was on the 81-100 page of the play list. That list might not correspond with the Mediabase list. I have no idea how often they change that list or what it is based on. If it is purely historical in that it updates throughout the week as songs are played then being lower could simply be because they didn't necessarily spin the song over the weekend. Doesn't mean they won't spin it during the week. They are a big Adam supporter and always have been so I tend to think that outside of the initial promo they are holding off a little on purpose to let the song build in other markets before kicking in to higher gear.
