Does anyone know how things stand with Canadian radio ? Did GT get any Canadian adds this week, are stations spinning?
ETA: I have an answer now, someone on Twitter is keeping a pictorial list of US & Canadian spinners.

I am looking right now, at Sam Smith, at #40. These are his spin drops of the past 3 days:-418, -301, -172. He and GT are separated by 115 today. So if SS drops, say 100 today, and Adam increases even a little, it could happen tomorrow. Definitely by Sunday. No one behind Adam is having big increases. Calvin Harris "Outside" is eligible to be purged. If it happens, GT will be 39 on Sunday's Official Chart! Purges & recurrents don't always happen when they are supposed to though. Same song is eligible to go recurrent next week, so mediabase could just wait one more week on it. I would say, 40 is certain, 39 is "cross your fingers!" Then with all the negatives above GT, next week will be crazy good!!

Starting the week after, May 24 - June 14th, 7 songs are coming up for recurrent! That really needs to happen too, because the spin count at the top of the chart is ridiculous!

That really needs to happen too, because the spin count at the top of the chart is ridiculous! I am hoping for top 30 by June 16th, need about +700 spins...do you think it's possible? Ya, the top looks sky high, BUT if Adam gets there we'll be soooooo happy seeing those huge spin #s!

Yes, Nica! I think Top 30 or higher is totally possible by album drop, especially with the recurrents starting in a few weeks!

Traveling all day today but I did see the numbers at the airport this morning. Excited. I totally agree with all of you. I think GT Will crack the top 30 by the time the album drops. Very likely the big stations will Will start to move quickly start to spin and it will do just what it supposed to do as the lead single

I have been reading this thread with delight at the happiness of the wise posters who are so knowledgeable about the music industry. Coming from a place of ignorance about these things I have been wondering about the timeline. If the goal was to have GT fairly high on the charts when album drops, and knowing that even songs that are moving well, but are not KP's or TS's, take time to march up the charts, why WB put it on what I see as a tight timeline? Would it have been better to have released it a few weeks earlier? Moving up the charts is acknowledged to be a marathon, but to me GT seems to be on a sprinter's timeline.

If he makes Top 40 then all the big markets will start spinning him. He has to jump thru the hoops to get to Top 40. It is a fucking game. But he will do it, Yeah!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that GT will reach #40 on the Top 40 by tomorrow. That would mean spins by Ryan Seacrest, which is a syndicated show, and perhaps some big market Top 40 adds next week, like Q102 in Philly (my local station) and perhaps even Z100 in NYC where Adam is going for an interview. I'm on the Rate the Music Panel for Q102 and GT has been there amongst the songs that I have been asked to rate for the last two weeks. Of course, I give it the highest rating and choose "Play it more often" as an answer to that question.
