Here is my response. I feel better now:) @nprobin I think Ruess is great, but I must disagree about your suggestion that he would be a better fit as Queen frontman than Lambert. I present a video comparison. Lambert's interpretation references Mercury's inspiration for the song (the gospel stylings of Aretha Franklin). It would be enough to send them Fat Bottomed Girls from IHeartRadio Festival: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDoWk3oV_iMMaybe Nate is good on his own (don't like his voice at all), but that perfomance was just terrible)) And since they are both in one video, everything become pretty evident)) The comments below the original video though: www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIGJECUU2rE .. while I couldn't even watch it till the end, there ARE people that actually think that Nate sings better...wow))

And even in his recorded work, there don't seem to be any dynamics...it's all just loud. I'll take Adam, thank you!

Looking for the videos of STL and Save Me, I fell down the rabbit hole again. Artistsupporter has a wonderful "Best of QAL" playlist. His presence is so compelling, and so fun. And his voice..... yum! It is so remarkable. No one else comes close. If you are looking for a throw back to give you a break between listening to GT and Underground, try this. If you have a favorite that didn't make the list, please recommend it to me, as I might make my own favorites playlist as well. www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLr2rP3djJu3ik6A09ytsJdv6j_JsIZC9F

Sad. That's not possible for an adequate person to think (at least on this video) that Nate is better)) they're clearly just fans, who don't want to see the obvious)) So it's not sad..but ridiculous))

I like Nate just fine on radio, but I've never seen him in a live performance on TV that didn't make me cringe...I usually hear a lot of off-key shouting. And even in his recorded work, there don't seem to be any dynamics...it's all just loud. I'll take Adam, thank you! This is something about Adam's performances that is often overlooked because of all the powerful and amazing glory notes. Many pop and rock singers perform a song at almost the same dynamic level throughout the song. It has the same intensity, the same delivery, the same tone without variance or attention to the lyrical message. Adam is a marvelous interpreter of a song. He delivers a line or a phrase differently, depending on the meaning and intent of the lyric, depending on the melodic movement, and depending on where in the song it is. He tells stories with his performances. I suppose it is all his musical theater training? Even some of the "best" pop/rock singers I have watched on YT performances fail to do this. Many times I think that they totally disregard the lyrics. It puzzles me. I don't understand what they are thinking when they perform a number. Adam, on the other hand, obviously wants to make the audience FEEL something, and feel something different with each song. It makes an even more compelling performance. (Of course, Adam has the technical skill to create dynamic interpretations, too.)
