after 2nite there is what one more battle round? then the live shows right?
and then maybe guest singers? maybe {{{Adam}}}
I already like this show better than Idol.. but, having Adam on possibly makes it even better.
have any idea how the live shows will be packaged.. how many will sing in a night...

I haven't heard anything about how the live rounds are going to be structured, but I'm looking forward to them. I hope they can keep the quality at this level.

Mika - Possible reason for Sia not contributing much on the show, she tweeted that her mouth was not suited for TV, so maybe she has a bit of potty mouth going on and they had to edit her a bit too much.
I see a lot of people disparaging some of these artists for having had record deals and been dumped or for just having been around a long time and I'd like to remind everyone that in many many many cases loosing a record deal has more to do with label politics than with the artists themselves. The turnover of personnel within labels is pretty horrendous and many times when the person who signed you leaves to go elsewhere if there is no one else who already has an interest in you it often means you fall through the cracks. Katy Perry had I think three different record deals before she finally hit it right with this one. As for the ones who've been touring or performing and never been signed, it is often just as simple as not having the right connections or not knowing how to promote yourself to a record company. You can be really good at hustling gigs and not know shit about hustling the A&R guys. Want a really interesting view of the underbelly of the music industry? Read "Killing Bono" written by Neil McCormick. Neil went to the same high school as the members of U2 and his brother Ivan was actually almost part of the band. He was at the first band meeting and for a few months was almost in the group. Neil writes about his and his brothers efforts to become pop stars and the many an varied ways that they get screwed over just short of a record deal are hilariously incredible.

I only mentioned that many, or even most of these contestants have been around a long time, are professionals, and have had record deals, because there were many posts about how much better these singers are than those on Idols. I don't think you can compare the two. Idol really has younger contestants really trying to make it for the first time. Comparing a Javier Colon to say, a Stefano Langone is just not right.

I wasn't focusing on any one particular mention but this is a theme that keeps coming up all over the place whenever a contestant on ANY of these shows is mentioned as having had a contract. The assumption made is usually that it is the artist's fault that they didn't make it or got dropped. I was just trying to remind people that more often than not it has little to do with the talent of the artist themselves. Most people do not realize how many of the Idol contestants have been around a while and have either had deals or put out independent releases or what not. People make assumptions all the time. I've seen the same type of comments on Idol boards long before The Voice was a factor. This was just the latest mention that I had seen and decided to comment on as a lot of people don't really know anything about the industry.

Adam Levine's final pick.
OMG -- the first round tonight and they are both better than anyone on the past 2 years of Idol.
Casey - glam rock singer, designs her own fashions, rail thin with bright red dyed hair.
Jeff - Country singer with a great voice, his mom died a year ago, a bit overweight.
Neither would ever make Idol because of appearance.
I slightly prefer Casey but Adam could pick either.
Cee Low Green picked Jeff, the others passed on picking.
Adam Levine picked Jeff.
Adam's team: Cassei Weston, Javier Cologne, Devon Barley and Jeff Jenkins.

I can't believe either Casey or Jeff are going to be sent home. They were both incredible.

Jeff was a great choice, but now I want there to be some sort of second chance round.
