So, some gays have developed a different version of the Christ story in which Jesus is gay and Judas was Christ's gay lover and being kissed by Judas is what gave Jesus away to the authorities. But Judas didn't mean to give Jesus away. Jesus was then hung as the gays were hung in those days, on the cross. In Gaga's video by saying she's still in love with Judas is she saying she loves this gay man even though the gay man, Judas, is Jesus' lover? Is she saying that Jesus lied to her three times by being with Judas instead of her? Or that Judas lied to her three times by being with Jesus. She holds a gun to the chest of Judas with Jesus looking on. Why is Jesus her virtue and Judas the demon she clings to? In the gay version Jesus is gay and the messiah. But why is Judas the demon? Has anyone already analysed this? Or have a good analysis link? She is stoned in the end by the masses. Is she stoned because she was friends with two gay men, because she washed their feet? Is she stoned because she was a prostitute?
She plays the part of Mary Magdalene, the woman in the bible who lived a sinful life who washed Jesus' feet with her hair and perfume.

Idon't think Gaga is actually doing the gays any favors the way that she is going about making her statement on religion. She is actually placing herself as a kind of antiChrist by saying she loves the man that has traditionally been the one that betrayed Christ and was the reason for his hanging. This will bring a huge backlash rather than bring the Christians to question their treatment of the gays which is what we really need. I really hope that Adam does not wage war on traditional Christianity in a similar manner. I think it could be one of the dumbest things to do. I understand the pain and suffering that has led the gay population to rework the traditional Christian story but my feeling is create your own religion don't take someone else's and twist it because that is waging a kind of war. The traditional Christian story has a lot missing. We have evolved in many ways since those times and for fundamentalists the story has not evolved which is a really scary thing. This statement is probably going to have a lot of backlash. But at least it will start the conversation.
I just wish someone with as big following as Gaga could make a powerful statement that truly made Christians think about the treatment of gays. It would so amazing if done right. Done in fury and anger it will not change the system. So, I do not see this video as a powerful statement.
