I LOVE Lyndsey's run-down of TOH! Sounds like even though it has a darker tone, it still really shows off all the ranges of Adam's voice. Rolling Stone gave it three stars. I think THAT'S a good sign, too. I posted here a while back that I think Adam's core sound or theme could be described as "urban angst." Not always sad or negative, but just searching and introspective. I think lots of his songs are like that. He's intellectual and thoughtful. He once said that he might have gone into some kind of psychology work if he hadn't been a singer. I think some of that shows up in a lot of his music. He is definitely a city boy, a club-goer, a guy who muses about life all the time with friends. Had his share of heartbreak. Sounds like TOH comes directly from Adam's soul. Praying that there are some hits in there that we'll hear on the radio! I love this post! Exactly my thoughts!!  |
